Manhours report by Ed Beers
In October 2001, we had 13 members donating 80.5 manhours at the site. These were for full size trackwork, caboose restoration, museum gift shop, and operating C&S train during Pumpkin Festival. Paul and Meg Carpenito also donated 28 hours for the newsletter in addition to filling out grant applications. Jim Mack donated 1 hour for mailing labels. Also I credited 4 members with a total of 33 hours for the September 30 Open House. October hours total was 142.5 hours. In November 2001, we had 7 members donating 80.5 hours for full size trackwork. That also includes Glenn Terminelli and Bill Pensyl for cutting C&S ties. Paul, Meg, and Jim had a combined 13 hours for newsletter and mailings. November total was 93.5 hours. For December, there were 10 members donating 48.5 hours for our first annual Santa Train. Rocky Rockafellow donated 14 hours for insurance research work during the year 2001. The election used 3 hours for printing and mailing ballots and there were 13 hours used for newsletter work. Total hours for December were 78.5. The grand total for all of 2001: 2136 manhours. Thank you Ed for your diligence in analyzing and calculating hours. We must certainly all be proud of the dedication shown in this manhour total. This is done for the love of trains and the organization. No compensation is afforded except for the satisfaction that the club progresses and matures with time. Let's kick in some work to make 2002 an even better year.

PRRH would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Dave Diehl of Orefield for their generosity in donating a rare CNJ baggage wagon to our museum. This well preserved item came from the CNJ Easton Passenger station and is one of the few extant examples of a design once common and now disappeared. A well patronized work party was held on January 27 for the purpose of tarping the two L&HR cabooses and the retrieval of the baggage wagon. Thanks go out to Bill Pensyl, John Boner, Earle Brotzman, Jim Anderson, Ed Beers, Tom Marzuoli, Jim Mack, Steve Winter and Paul Carpenito. We also acknowledge and thank Pete Delikat and Walter Appel for their donations given with their dues renewals. A special thank you goes out to Jim Anderson who scrapped $185.00 worth of metals for the club.
We are working out arrangements for our annual banquet set for Saturday night April 6 at Ryan's Restaurant.
And please stay tuned to details for our annual field trip event set for Fathers Day Sunday June 16. We will journey on a bus, train, and boat trip to the beautiful Hudson River Valley of New York for the day and have lunch by the tracks on a patio of an old New York Central train station, now a restaurant. Full details and trip information next month.
We have a limited number of PHILLIPSBURG history books left available at the meeting.
Please get your dues in if you have not already done so.
See you all soon
