CURRENT NEWS
Meeting January 22 7:30 P.M. Town Hall Phillipsburg 2nd floor
Slide show this month by Anthony Chando.
Remember starting January meetings every month.
We are trying to get Ted Merritt and the Town of Phillipsburg together to get the land
donated, this is holding up our negotiations with Conrail for a switch.
A proposed master plan has been made of the museum site by the Deshlers. This is only
a proposal, suggestions are welcomed.
Anyone that would be interested in making signs for the yard please see Pete Terp.
We have acquired a 35-foot Sea Box trailer for storage of misc. items. Thanks to Mr. John
Broderick of Laudry Lumber and member Bob Shandor who owns American Automatic
Sprinkler for donating the Movement of the Sea Box.
Letters of appreciation going out to Ingersoll Rand for everything they have done for us,
as well as Bruce's Mower for pulling the float in the Halloween Parade.
EQUIPMENT
Caboose #12 is going to Jim Smith of Delaware N.J. He donated the Lackawanna rail to us.
Anthony Chando traced the lettering from the cabooses and the flanger. Stencils will be made
thru the winter.
A load of ties was brought up from Earl by Glenn Terminelli. The offer was for 5000/6000
ties and 2 of 3 were to be good, but now it appears 1 of 5 are good. We will not take any
more from Earl; option we can buy #2 ties at $7.00 each.
P.R.O. (Phillipsburg Riverview Organization) has a plan to develop the banks of the
Delaware River from the Free Bridge south. This may be just what we need to clean up
the area and attract visitors.
