DECEMBER MEETING RECAP
IR BOXCAB: We recently got a letter from United Industry, Inc. telling us that if we still want the locomotive, we have to move it by April 1993 because the property it sits on is being developed. If there are any members who feel they may be able to help in our effort please come forward.
MERRITT PROPERTY: Ted Merritt says a deal to sell his property is at hand, let's hope so! Our five acre sub-division is depending on it.
MINATURE RR REPORT: Wayne Deshler reported he is waiting for good weather to start laying track. Glenn Terminelli reported that on December 5th a trip was made to Monmouth County to retrieve rail and switches. He along with Jim Smith, Dave Griffith, Tim Mann, Craig Ealey and Pete Delikat, with a truck and roll-off container provided by Jim Smith, brought back a load of loose rail and nine or ten switches. We aren't done there yet, another trip is needed to get the remaining switches, turntable and station. A place to store the station is still needed, Joe Maddock was checking with Atlantic States Pipe. We were also waiting to hear if we would be getting two sea boxes to store equipment in the park. At your directors meeting last month, it was decided that Keith Muldowney would be our liaison with Henry Becker.
FIREHOUSE REPORT: Lester (Rocky) Rockafellow reported that he along with Adam Spiles, Glenn Terminelli, Bob Kelly and Jim Anderson have stabilized the firehouse. The power is on and electrical hook-ups are being made as needed. They have solved the fuel problem but the roof still needs work. During the Christmas season, a wreath was hung, thanks to former "Reliance" fireman. Rocky, Glenn and Adam even got the Christmas lights working!
OLD BUSINESS: We still don't know the fate of ex-PRR "Doodlebug" #4666. John Willever reported nothing happening with the E&N Branch, we need and have been unable to get, the blessing of the mayor or Easton, Pennsylvania. Pete Delikat will be checking into the availability of AMTRAK ties. Our base radio station is back, we just haven't had the time to set it up.
NEW BUSINESS: We talked about a banquet and have since set a date FEBRUARY 27, Jim Boyd will entertainment us...... Details at our next meeting! Your president has talked to the mayor about erecting a signal in Shappell Park. This of course to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first electrically operated semaphore signal, installed by the CRR of NJ in Phillipsburg, New Jersey.
