 PHILLIPSBURG RAILROAD HISTORIANS NEWSLETTER

MEETING

The next meeting will be March 24th at 7:30 P.M. in the Community Room of the Phillipsburg Town Hall. There will be entertainment and refreshments. Dues for 1993 can be paid if you haven't already done so. This month elections of officers and directors will be held. Last month's nominations were: for president, PETE TERP; for vice-president, DAVE GRIFFITH; for treasurer, LESTER ROCKAFELLOW; for secretary, PETE DELIKAT; for directors, GLENN TERMINELLI, BOB KELLY and KEITH MULDOWNEY.

FEBRUARY MEETING RECAP

IR BOXCAB: No news to report, we're still waiting to hear from our contact in Billings. Unfortunately time is growing short, if we're going to do something, we are going to have to do it soon.

ROLLING STOCK: The CNJ caboose at JCP&L's Gilbert generating station in Milford may soon be ours. The ex-CNJ RDC car there which was supposed to go to Whippany for mechanical inspection, won't be, because of two bad wheel sets. Members Carl Loesser and Keith Muldowney have been doing cosmetic work on the car. There is nothing happening with our equipment in the Brickyard.

MERRITT PROPERTY: Nothing new to report, things are moving slow........

MINATURE RR REPORT: Weather holding up any work in the park. We still have to get back to Monmouth County to retrieve the last of the equipment there. Keith Muldowney and Bob Kelly were to meet with a reporter for an article soon to appear locally, we need the publicity and maybe we can spark some local interest, we're going to need help! Keith was also working with Carl Loeser on a mechanical procedure, something to follow when working on the equipment.

FIREHOUSE REPORT: Rocky reports work is slow but steady. His biggest concern is our lease that will be up at the end of May. We need a long term lease, this is already being worked on. Whoever does any work at the firehouse and has any problems, see ROCKY, he is in charge there.

OLD BUSINESS: Our banquet was held February 27th, 53 people attended including the mayor of Phillipsburg and her husband. A good time was had by all, the food was great and so was the entertainment, thanks to JIM BOYD.

Your directors thought it necessary to hold a special meeting to review the by-laws of the organization. Changes were made in regard to outside directors, terms of officers and paragraphs were added for tax purposes. Those members in attendance last month voted to accept the changes.
