MEETING
This month's meeting will be November 17th, at 7:30 p.m., in the Community Room of Phillipsburg Town Hall. We will have entertainment but refreshments are questionable, this because of the new carpeting in Town Hall. HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all, remember next month's meeting will also be a week earlier, because of CHRISTMAS!
MEMBER NEWS
ROLLING STOCK: Not too much happening. Last weekend a work party consisting of Jim Anderson, Bill Marz, Jim Stetler and Pete Delikat, secured L&HR cabooses #16 and 18, and flanger #105 for the winter. New tarps were secured to the roofs and other minor repairs were made.
FIREHOUSE REPORT: At last month's member meeting it was reported that our lease had not yet been approved. In recent months, town council had changed their mind and could not agree on terms. There was to be a council meeting that Thursday after our meeting. Latest word that I have is that council will approve a ten year lease with our organization paying for roof and window repairs. The actual wording of the lease had not been agreed to but that was not expected to be a problem. We should know more by next week. It is hard to believe that this could take so long, we want to store town equipment in a town building, whose operation would benefit the town!
MINIATURE RR REPORT: Alan Bullock has completed the lettering of the box car painted by Norman Cole, it looks great Volunteers still needed to repair/refurbish equipment stored at the firehouse, surely some members will have time this winter!
TOWER PROJECT: Rocky reports nothing happening yet. We got off another letter to New Jersey Transit and are still awaiting a reply.
New member JEFF CHARLES has agreed to be publicity chairman, welcome aboard Jeff!
