This month's meeting will be held next Wednesday, April 27th, at 7:30 p.m., in the Community Room of Phillipsburg Town Hall. We will have entertainment, but no refreshments! We have sold out the Bednar, Lehigh Valley books, if anyone still wants a copy or any other book ordered, see me at the meeting. As mentioned last month in this newsletter, I can also get railroad videos. I will have a few more lists available next week for those of you who still want one.

MEMBER NEWS

ROLLING STOCK: L&HR cabooses #14 and #17 should be moving soon. According to sources, both have been billed by Conrail. Our GE 45 tonner was broken into, fortunately only minor damage was reported. A permanent, secured home for our equipment needs to be found. President Peter Terp met with Mayors Decker and Goldsmith and others a week ago to find such a home. This will be discussed at next Wednesday's meeting, member input is vital, try to attend. Carl Loeser reports locating RDC cars going to scrap in Perth Amboy. He managed to obtain necessary parts for CNJ RDC #556.

FIREHOUSE & C&S: Jim Anderson has done some plumbing work in the firehouse. Work parties are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM, all members are welcome with much work to be done. The dumpster with the roof slate has been removed. The problem with people dumping garbage in it was resolved prior to it moving. Keith Muldowney accepted a Becker Farms milk can from Bill McKelvey at his symposium, for us, Thanks Keith.

STEAMTOWN: Member John Willever received a letter from Rep. Joseph McDade concerning the possibility of a "Steam-In" as part of the Grand Opening ceremonies for the site next summer. It says a committee has been formed to assist the Park Service in planning, fund-raising and implementation of events. The committee has already determined that attracting visiting main-line steam locomotives will be a primary means of obtaining national media coverage.
