This month's meeting will be held next Wednesday, July 27th, at 7:30 p.m., in the Community Room of Phillipsburg Town Hall. We will have entertainment. Thanks to member Paul Carpenito for last month's slide show, I hear it was great, sorry I missed it.
MEMBER NEWS
ROLLING STOCK: Not much new to report, I checked the other day to see if caboose #14 had moved yet, it hasn't! On an unrelated note, L&HR RS3 #4 is back in our area. As noted in RAILPACE magazine, the New Hope & Ivyland has purchased the unit from Central Soya of Baltimore. Prior to that it worked for the St. Johnsbury & Lamoille County Railroad in Vermont.
C&S REPORT: We recently accepted delivery of two more trailers for storage. These two came from ROADWAY. The trailers are currently parked in a lot off Sitgreaves Street in Phillipsburg. Shortly after last month's meeting, Pete Terp, Jim Anderson, Tony Chando and myself, along with the help of a local crane operator and some other volunteers, moved three C&S cars into one of them to free up the auto trailer for other use. The auto trailer was stored at Vargo's farm, but not under cover. Thanks go out to Andy Svachak, Ed Myers and Glenn Terminelli for manning a table at Delaware River Park. They made $149 for our organization. Thanks too to Pete Terp for speaking at Oxford, N.J. on local rail history.
