MEETING

This month's meeting will be next Wednesday, November 16th, at 7:30 p.m., in Council Chambers of Phillipsburg Town Hall. NOTE THE DATE, we will be meeting early this month because of the holiday. We will have entertainment, however at this time I don't know who or what. Thanks go out to Mitch Dakelman for last month's show on New Jersey Railroads.

MEMBER NEWS

I want to take this time to explain what happened to last month's NEWSLETTER......Last month my wife and I were on vacation, unfortunately I didn't get back in time to compile and mail out the newsletter, no other member thought to do so. We did meet, those of you who regularly attend showed up. I apologize to those of you who missed it because I didn't get the newsletter out.

Club Historian, Anthony N. Chando, has asked that I print the following letter to the general membership...

Subject: Meaning of the words - "We need Help".
It seems that when anything needs to be done at the firehouse, nobody can find at least 2 hours or so to come and help. The regulars who can do this are - Jim Anderson and myself. You are not being asked to do heavy lifting. However it does take at least three adults to move things around. None of the equipment, C&SW or Standard Gauge, will ever be looked at, or offer rides to people, without some help getting them into working condition. If ANYONE can find the time to help, please call: J. Anderson, J. Stetler, or myself, Anthony N. Chando - (908) 859-5347.

FIREHOUSE REPORT: Externally the building is looking good, we have even gotten compliments from city officials. The heating system has been checked out and is ready for another heating season. The rear window still needs to be replaced, and the roof vents, promised by roofer John Todd, still need to be installed. We still need to move a number of cars to storage trailers, a weekend work party is planned.
