MARCH 1995 NEWSLETTER VOL. IV #3 MARCH 14, 1995
Phillipsburg Railroad Historians, Inc.
55 Sitgreaves Street, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865
MEETING
This month's meeting will be held on March 22nd, at 7:30 p.m., in the Community Room of Phillipsburg Town Hall. As per usual, we will have entertainment; however, at this time I don't know who or what! Thanks go out to member Paul Carpenito for last month's show, once again a GREAT SHOW, thank you Paul! This month we will also hold elections of officers. Anyone desiring to hold office should come forward, most (if not all) of the current officers will run again, however, all positions can be challenged if you want to run. At large directors will not be running as they are just starting the second year of their terms, if any choose not to complete their terms, other at large directors will be appointed by the elected officers.
MEMBER NEWS
Once again I must remind you that your 1995 dues are due now, if you haven't already paid them, you can do so at our monthly meeting, or you can send them in to the above address. Dues are still $25.00 for the year. If the number 5 or 95 doesn't appear on your Newsletter address label, your dues are not paid up. I apologize for any misunderstanding last month; our labels were a month behind in this regard because our printer only prints them every other month.
Thanks go out to those members who showed up for the work session the Saturday after last month's meeting. We managed to move three pick-up truck loads of material from Bloomsbury to storage. We will be working again Saturday March 25th (our regularly scheduled date), all members are asked to participate!
Volunteers are needed to man our table at JERSEY CENTRAL'S Mother Seton Train Show on March 26th. This is always a great show, the weather is usually great, and everyone has a good time. Any members who have excess model trains or railroadiana that you would consider donating to us, are asked to do so. We will sell it to help raise funds for our organization. Donations will be accepted at this month's meeting or Saturdays work session. All donations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to those members already making contributions.
There is no news to report on the status of the land we are seeking for use as a museum site. The town's recently hired Urban Enterprise Zone Director has not (to my knowledge) reviewed our proposals or reached any decisions. The sale of the Merritt property has also not closed, as I understand it.
