APRIL 1997 NEWSLETTER VOL. VI APR. 17, 1997
Phillipsburg Railroad Historians, Inc.
292 Chambers Street, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865
This month's meeting will be held on April 23rd, at 7:30, at Phillipsburg Town Hall, Basement level. Entertainment by Tom Nemeth.
Our April newsletter brings much news and progress - our lease with the town of Phillipsburg is signed.
In preparation for the tour on April 26th & 27th, we made the decision to lay 400 plus feet of C&SW track on its' permanent right of way. Glenn Terminelli on the road grader prepared the right of way. Then we hand raked 80 tons of 3/8 stone (ballast). The track panels are on the right of way, waiting to be bolted together. Working on this project besides Glenn, were Jim Anderson, Anthony Chando, & Pete Terp.
We will have the C&SW running for the tour, as well as using our museum building as an orientation site.
We need volunteers for work partys as well as help an the 26th & 27th during the tour. Please call Jim Anderson at (610)-252-4046 and GET YOUR NAME PUT ON THE LIST!

Charter member Al Vernon passed away

Al was involved with our group since
the beginning in 1990, and taught us
