JUNE 1997 NEWSLETTER VOL. VI #6
This month's meeting will be held on June 25th, at 7:30 P.M., at the Phillipsburg Town Hall, in the Basement. Entertainment will be presented by Tony Chando.
On June 7th and 8th, RIVERFEST gave us good publicity. On Saturday, Bill McKelvey brought out air horns to blow. This created a lot of attention. The C&S ran well and gave a good impression of our museum. Thanks to Pat Christe, Tom Marzuoli, Jim Anderson, Glenn Terminelli, Alan Bellis, Ed Beers, Rick Glosser, Jim Mack, Tony Chando, Ed Meyers, and Joe Frick.
SITE REPORT - Jim Anderson has installed an exhaust fan in the museum building. Ninety feet of standard gauge track has been laid extending the Caboose track in anticipation of receiving the X29 Box car and the move of our Tonner. Ken Miller spearheaded the track laying with Ann Jennings, Glenn Terminelli, Ed Beers, Tony Chando, Jim Anderson , with after dark lighting by Bud Edinger, Jim Mack, and Ann Jennings. Jim Anderson and Rick Glosser patched the museum roof, followed by Jim Dyer and Dave Beck coating the north side. Much of our track supplies have been moved to storage. Bob Kirkpatrick has been working on estimates for the retaining wall.
CNJ Caboose 91197 is receiving a new coat of paint thanks to Tony Chando. Jim Anderson did some patching on the north side prior to painting.
Lets plan having the museum open on Sunday, July 6th, August 3rd, September 7th, and October 5th, plus The Old Towne Festival Saturday, July 26th. We need manpower to do this. See Jim Anderson.
Work Parties will be Monday and Thursday evenings at 4pm till dark. Also Saturday, June 28th, July 12th, and 26th. Call Jim Anderson for details at 1-610-252-4046.
