DECEMBER 1998 NEWSLETTER VOL. VIII #12

 

This month's meeting will be held one week earlier than usual at 7:30 P.M. on December 16th at Phillipsburg Town Hall in the basement. Derek Long will present a slide show on Philadelphia Trolleys.

Thanks to Dave and Lynn Beck our Museum building has two fresh Christmas Wreaths from their Christmas Tree Farm in Stones Church

Work continues on the retaining wall under the direction of Glenn Terminelli. Stop buy to view the fine job. We hope to have this project done before the ground freezes.

Outside lights are working thanks to Ken Miller and Councilman Harry Wyant; a little fine-tuning will give us the security and economical operation we need.

The roof of L&HR 105 has been covered for the winter. L&HR 16 and 18 also need the same attention ASAP.

Jim Anderson and John Drake have the furnace at the firehouse humming, also the gutter parts are in and should be installed soon weather permitting.

Jim Mack and Jim Stetler have been working on a project to identify remaining IR locomotives. If you have any information on this subject contact them.

Work Parties will continue on Saturdays as needed with weather permitting. We have many small projects that can be done any time. Call Pete Terp for details at 908.213.1722.

Elections: The slate of officers for 1999 are as follows: President- Paul Carpineto, Vice President- Jim Mack, Secretary- Jim Stetler, Treasurer- Derek Long. Directors-Alan Bellis, Ed Myers, Pete Terp.

The following Volunteers have contributed 196 hours during the last month, Jim Anderson, Alan Bellis, John Drake, Ann Jennings, Bob Kirkpatrick, Derek Long, Jim Mack, Bob Marinelli, Bill McKelvey, Ken Miller, Glenn Terminelli, Pete Terp, Matt Winter, Steve Winter, Harry Wyant.

Treasurer's Report will be available at the members meeting. 1999 dues are due NOW.
