Summary/Review:

The story is slowly progressing to the point where Alex’s destiny, and that of his companions, will be revealed. Each character has their own agenda in the story and the ways that their lives fall together can often be surprising.

A Templar Knight, of the Elite Dragon Order, is documenting his memories of his past years. He joined the knights because he thought he believed in what they were fighting for but after a number of horrific events he has come to realise that this is not was he was meant for. The scars on his back mark that he once had wings because he was once an angel, like Zophiel.

Alex has gone to see Joe to get him to help to confront Van Fleet but they end up having an argument because Joe has decided that he won’t do everything that Alex tries to make him do.

Elsewhere, Scarlet is training with Dumas to uncover her werewolf heritage. She is stronger and more powerful than she has ever been and Dumas is eager to show her that he appreciates that she is learning so quickly.

Zophie is coming to grips with her new life; she has to do her laundry and even has a job to pay the bills. While at work her boss notices that she has an admirer, from outside the window the Templar is staring right at her.

Senator Van Fleet confronts Alex to ask him why he has been following him around. Alex says its because he wants to ask questions about being the Chosen One but when Alex doesn’t get the answers that he wants he tries to fight with Van Fleet, proving he is still inexperienced. Van Fleet is easily a match for him, so he departs leaving Alex as confused as ever. After Van Fleet has cleaned off from the fight he sits down for a drink and discussion with Alex’s mentor, Ekimus.

Later, Zophiel is returning home when she sees her front door opened slightly and enters with caution, only to discover the knight who had been watching her waiting in her apartment.

This was a pretty good issue, slowly giving us small parts of all the characters lives. It was unfortunate that the speech bubbles (Joe and Alex) and colors (Alex’s fire, Zophiel’s eye) were off in some parts.

My grade: B
