Summary/Review:
Savage Dragon #64 picks up where #63 left us off. Dragon has just killed Overlord (Vic Nixon), and he is discussing the situation with other cops. They all agree that Overlord's suit should be destroyed, and it is. Dragon goes to sleep, but is awakened when hundreds of tiny villains try to get their revenge. See, a good way back, Dragon shrunk many villains with a Martian gun. The tiny guys decide to get heir revenge, but Dragon sucks them all up with a vacuum cleaner and throws it into a dumpster. A few days later, Dragon shoots a commercial for Shick-Head disposable razors. Dragon and the Assistant Director, Marcy Howard, decided to go out on a date. The two enjoy themselves, until the cook, who is a former villain, decides to pound an oven over Dragon's head. Dragon stands up and demands that the villain pay him twenty dollars for the shirt. Marcy is surprised by the Dragon's kindness, and decides to go to a movie with Dragon a few days later. They seem to be hitting it off pretty well. The next day, Dragon is standing in a line at the grocery, when She-Dragon gets punched into the place. She-Dragon defeats the villain who punched her, and ridicules Dragon for not helping her out. Dragon replies, "What... And lose my place in line?" A few days later, the two go on a date, and leave Horridus to watch Angel. When the couple comes back, they decided to hit the sack and get it on. Angel walks in, angry with Dragon for not saying goodnight. Dragon says goodnight, and Angel leaves with the advice of, "You should really decide which side of the bed you're gonna sleep on before you get into bed." Was I that stupid as a kid? The book ends off with a mysterious villain killing Dr. Plucker.
Once again, an amazing story. Erik Larsen is trying to make the readers understand the Dragon wants no fighting at all. Dragon has become a mellow guy, and Marcy seems to like him that way. This issue was very well drawn, which is a surprise, due to the fact that he has other comics to work on. The addition of this mysterious villain is an interesting move. Judging by the appearance, it is The Fiend, last seen in. Hell. Marcy seems like a great addition, because Dragon is never complete without a woman in his life. One of the best things about this issue is that I am in the letters page! Look for a Chris Nadler when you buy the issue... BUY THE ISSUE! IT'S GREAT!!!! Let me close with a request... www.WizardWorld.com is having a Superhero showdown. Please go to the site, and EVERYONE, vote for Savage Dragon over Superman. It's damn well clear that he would win without a doubt. Thanks and I'll see you back here next time...
