Turkish 1.League - Week 22 Review: There were 32 goals this week in the league. Gaziantepspor needed extra time to beat Turkish cup finalist Gençlerbirliği in the opener of the Round 22. This result was enough for them to pass Beşiktaş and came to just 3 points away from Galatasaray and a UEFA Champions League spot. This was the only game with 1 goal. There were three games on Saturday. Antalyaspor got a surprise win at Rize, beating them 2-0. Ankaragücü scored four to Siirt, which were playing better away from home recently. In the game of the week, Fenerbahçe got an easy win after Ahmet Dursun left his team with 10 men for the whole second half and Fenerbahçe scored all goals in the second half. Beşiktaş looks puncless without penalized Nouma. They started the season to win, but now they can not even qualify to the UEFA Cup. The rest of the schedule was played on Sunday. İstanbulspor got the surprise result of the week, beating Trabzonspor at their home. This was Trabzon's first loss at home this year. Oktay was silent this week, after two very good performances in a row. Samsunspor also got an away win at Erzurumspor, sinking them further in the relegation zone. Erzurum's Iranian player Sohrab has returned this week, but this didn't help much. In another game Adanaspor fought back to avoid a home loss in the last 15 minutes and tied Yozgatspor 3-3. Yozgat missed a penalty early in the game. Denizli fought well at Bursa even though missing the Egyptian players due to the World Cup 2002 qualifier game of Egypt over the weekend. Bursa started getting the results they need under Nejat Biyedic. And, finally another surprise came from Ali Sami Yen. Kocaelispor beat Galatasaray 3-2 scoring the winner at 88'. They were 2-0 ahead during the game. Bilent, Suat, Hakan, and Jardel was missing in the Galatasaray line-up because of the injuries. The team of the week is a difficult selection this week. Antalya, Samsun, İstanbulspor, and Kocaelispor won away games. Gaziantepspor and Fenerbahçe gain a lot with their wins. But I guess İstanbulspor should be the team of the week. The player of the week: Engin Öztonga of Kocaelispor - who scored two goals to Galatasaray at Ali Sami Yen
