Turkish 1.League - Week 23 Review: There were 23 goals in 8 games this week in the league. Trabzonspor started the week with an away game on Friday, beating Gençlerbirliği 2-0 in Ankara. With Oktay's absence the goalscorer was Gökdeniz in both cases. Gaziantep needed a last minute penalty-kick to beat the last place Siirt in Siirt. Naturally the Siirt crowd was not happy to lose in the last minute, against a team which has a technical director who left them after week 8 and joined Gaziantep. Fenerbahçe won again away from home beating Yozgatspor in the last 15 minutes. This win was much more valuable than the score, since it increased the gap to the followers to 8 points. Recent goal scorers Haim and serhat were silent in this game. The game was played in front of a over-crowded stadium, most of them watching Fenerbahçe first time ever, since this is the first year in the league for Yozgat. Antalyaspor beat Adanaspor pushing them deeper into the danger of relegation. Atilla scored again, who was transferred by Beşiktaş in order to get Fazlı from Antalya. While Fazlı is trying to make the Beşiktaş team, Atilla is keeping scoring for Antalya. Samsunspor beat Bursaspor within an eight minutes span in the second half. Recently in-form Bursa was very silent this time. Missing one of their top scorer Ümit Ozan Kazmaz to the injury during the week Rizespor managed to beat Denizli, which got their African players back from the Worl Cup 2002 qualifiers. Kocaelispor won again after Galatasaray win. The win may worth about six points since the opponent was Erzurumspor, another team trying to avoid the relegation. Beşiktaş finally performed, missing both Ahmet and Fazlı. They scored four goals, twice each by Nouma and Nihat. Nouma was back after three game suspension and showed how valuable he was for the team this year. If he can keep the yellow and red cards away, he would be more useful. By the way he got another yellow card this week. The team of the week: Gaziantepspor, Fenerbahçe, Rizespor, and Kocaelispor got very valuable wins. But the team of the week title goes to Trabzonspor. The player of the week: Markus Armin Münch of Beşiktaş - with three assists in the game.
