Groups Nine group winners and the best second qualify automatically. Four of the other eight second qualify after play-off games. Tie-Breakers for Group Standings The following rules will be applied when the teams have equal points: 1 - The total points obtained in the matches between the teams tied. 2 - Goal difference resulting from the matches between the teams tied. 3 - Greater number of goals away in the matches between the teams tied. 4 - Higher goal difference in all the group matches. 5 - Greater number of goals scored in all the group matches. 6 - Greater number of goals scored away in all the group matches. 7 - Fair Play conduct of the teams. 8 - Drawing of lots by the Committee.
