The following is compiled from Türkiye Newspaper. In Turkey, the trainers are referred as the Technical Directors. There were 38 technical directors in the 1999-2000 Turkish 1.League. 8 of these technical directors were foreigners, from 7 different countries, 2 from Germany, and one from each of Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, and Slovakia. 6 of the foreign and 14 of the Turkish technical directors had to leave. Two of the Turkish technical directors(Samet Aybaba and Ümit Kayıhan) worked for two different teams. Altay and Vanspor had four technical director changes. Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, Kocaelispor and Samsunspor worked with the same technical director all year.
