Opening Of The 6 Seals
And I saw that the Lamb had opened the first of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living
creatures saying, as with a voice of thunder, "Come!". 2.And I saw, and behold, a white horse,
and he who was sitting on it had a bow, and there was given him a crown, and he went forth as a
conqueror to conquer.
Stife
3.And when he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come!".
4.And there went forth another horse, a red one; and to him who was sitting on it, it was given to
take peace from the earth, and that men should kill one another, and there was given him a great
sword.
Famine
5. And when he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying "Come!". And I
saw, and behold, a black horse, and he who was sitting on it had a balance in his hand. 6. And I
heard as it were a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying, "A measure of wheat for
a denarius, and three measures of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the wine and the oil".
Pestilence
7. And when he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying,
"Come!". And I saw, 8. and behold, a pale-green horse, and he who was sitting on it-his name is
Death, and hell was following him. And there was given him power over four parts of the earth,
to kill with sword, with famine, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
The Martyrs
9. And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain
for the word of God, and for the witness that they bore. 10.And they cried with a loud voice,
saying, "How long, O Lord (holy and true) dost though refrain from judging and from avenging
our blood on those who dwell on the earth?". 11. And there was given to each of them a white
robe; and they were told to rest a little while longer, until the number of their fellow-servants and
their brethren who are to be slain, even as they had been, should be complete.
Signs On Earth And In Heaven
12.And I saw, when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun
became black as sackcloth of hair; and the whole moon became as blood. 13.And the stars of
heaven fell upon earth, as the fig tree sheds its unripe figs when it is shaken by a great wind.
14.And heaven passed away as a scroll that is rolled up; and every mountain and the islands
were moved out of their places. 15.And the kings of earth, and the princes, and the tribunes, and
the rich, and the strong, and everyone, bond and free, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks
of the mountains. 16. And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall upon us, and hide us
from the face of him who sits upon the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; 17. for the great
day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?".
