My Show Reviews
The Degenerics, "No Comply", Record Release Show
The Degenerics, Amalgamation, Automaton, Worthless, Stormshadow, Fanshen, You And I
?DatE? At The Mesonic Temple
This Had To Have Be One Of The Best, Funnest Shows I Have Ever Been To. Fanshen Opened Up, I Love 'Em. Then Stormshadow Played Their Anarchist Tunes Really Good. Then Amalgamation Played, These Guys From D.C. Are Awesome They Come To New Jersey A Lot So If You Get A Flyer With Them On It, Go!
They Were Really Good. Then The Lights Went Dim For Automaton. Everyone Went Crazy. The Whole Place Was Dancing. It Was Great. Then The Degenerics Played. They Played All Of There Songs With Perfection, They Covered Bad Brains, Like They Usually Do,
Minor Threat, And Gorilla Biscuits. Everyone Was Dancing Like Crazy. To Me It Seemed Like The Longest Degenerics Set I Ever Saw. Then Worthless Went On, Confetti Everywhere, Dave In The Middle Of The Dance Floor, Everyone Having Fun. Then You And I Played,
Everyone Knows I Don’t Like Them Too Much Because They Get So Wussy, So I Didn’t Really Watch Them. What’s With The Dude Crying And Stuff. I Don’t Know They Are Pretty Good At The Music They Play I Just Don’t Like Constant Wusscore. This Show Was Excellent,
Very, Very, Very Fun.
After You Mosh At The Melody
Automaton, Try.Fail.Try, Endeavor, Fanshen
?DatE? At The Box
This Was An Awsome Show. Try.Fail.Try Opened It Up Playing As Good As Ever. Fanshen Then Played Great Except For The Fact That Alex Likes To Talk A Lot Between Songs. Come On I See Them Start Getting Pumped And Then The Song Is
Done I Want To Go To Sleep. More Rock, Less Talk. They Still Are An Awesome Band Though. Then Automaton Played, Which Was There Last Show With There Guitarist, Since He Didn’t Show Up For The Jersey Fest. I Hope That’s Not The Last I
See Of Them. They Have Recorded A 7" With A "Guest" Guitarist. The 7" Has 4 New Songs And Has Home Invasion Re-Recorded With 4 Others From The Demo. Anyway They Were Great, One Of My Favorite Bands. Then Endeavor Played And They
Were Really Really Really Good. That Was The Show On The Flyer It Said Hacksaw From Canada Was Playing, I Don’t Know What Happened To That. There Wasn’t A Lot Of Dancing, But It Still Was A Nice Show, And A Good Benifit Twards HIV Prevention
Cause And Affect Demo Release Show
Try.Fail.Try., Fanshen, Stormshadow, Cause And Affect
June 19th At The Casino Skate Park
Some Band Opened Up That I Never Heard Of, The Vocals Were Too Loud And It Ruined There Set, So I Really Can't Say How Good They Are. Every Other Band Played Excellent. Try.Fail.Try Was Smashing Up Everything.
Fanshen As Usual Was Going Crazy Making Me Want To Destroy. It Was Kind Of Stupid When The “To Punk To Die Kids” Left During Stormshadow. They Just Can't Appreciate Stormshadow's Talent.
But They Played Good. Cause And Affect, Tom You Bitch Doing The Pork And Beans Scream, Played A Lot Better Than They Did At The Pork And Beans Breakup Show. A Definite Improvement From The Other Demo's Songs. Octave Hardcore. The Show Was Not Bad Not Bad At All.
Metal/Hardcore Show
Degenerics, Hatebreed, As Darkness Falls..., Cave-In, Shi Hulud
Febuary 27th At Middlesex County College
Uh, Excellent Show. We Video Taped It, So If You Want It, Give Me A Blow Job And I'll Give You One. Linus Opened Up, They Were Like You And I, So I Really Diddn't Like Them. Then Came The Degenerics. They Played Good, But Metal Was In The Air And Not A Lot Of People Danced.
Then As Darkness Falls... Played. It Was Crazy Sick Metal, Oh Yeah, A Lot Of Fun. Cave-In Played Next. They Played None Of Their Old Stuff Except For One Song. They Dragged Out The Until Your Heart Stops Weird Parts Forever. Not One Of Their Best Sets.
Then Some Band That Wasen't That Good Played From Buffelo, New York. Shui Hulud Had The Most Dancing Throughout The Night. Definately A Crazy Set. Hatebreed, Amazing. They Played All Of Their Best Songs. Crazy Metal/Hardcore. If You Get A Chance, See These Guys.
Skate Park Hardcore
NJ Bloodline, Full Speed Ahead, OS101, Built To Last
July 24th At The Casino Skate Park
A Typical Hardcore Show, Windmills, Spinkicks, Yada Yada Yada. Self-Born Played First, All The Self-Born Crew Was There That Wanted To Beat Me Up Last Year, Whoooh. I Only Caught
A Couple Of Songs From Them Though. Then Full Speed Ahead Played, I Think. They Were Great, The Vocals Needed To Be Turned Up A Little More Though. I’m Not Positive On The Order Of The Bands So .... Angus.
NJ Bloodline Was Awesome. It Was The First Time I Saw Them, So That Was Pretty Cool. There Demo Is Smashing It Up Reno Style. Built To Last Played, I Didn’t Like Them Too Much But At The End Of Their Set They Covered Gorilla Biscuits. Old School 101 Played Pretty Good To, But I Had To Leave Before There Set Was Over.
A Pretty Good Show All In All.
The New Brunswick Underground Survives
Capitali$t Casualties, Black Army Jacket, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Hellnation, Dawnbreed
July 29th At Loki’s Dungeon (Derik From Automaton’s House)
As Always It Started Late, But They All Do. Black Army Jacket Played First, This Was Getting Everyone In The Mood To Rip Shit Up. Then Hellnation Played, I Didn't Like Them To Much. The Drummer Was Screaming Non-Stop, So That Was Cool. Then
Capitali$t Played Then Everything Went Crazy, Everybody Moshed It Up Or Something. It Was Great Hearing Them Play Some Of My Favorite Songs From Them. It Was Ripping It Up. I Found Out Hirax Max From Spazz Plays Drums For Them. I Did Not Know That. Anyway, Then Dillenger Went On. This Was The First Time I Saw Them.
They Had Like A Light Extravaganza. They Were Really Good, People Were Like Freaking Out And The Guitarist Almost Hit Me With His Guitar 50 Times Throughout There Whole Set. He Was Going Crazy.
If He Would Have Hit Me I Would Have Bled, Smash. They Had A Lot Of Energy. I Didn't Get To See Dawnbreed, Because I Had To Get Home And Stuff. Overall The Show Was A Total Success. Try To Catch The Capitali$ts If You Can. They Are On Tour From California For The First Time Since '92, So Go See Them!
Metal At The Melody
Cave In, Ire, For The Love Of..., The Elucid
August 22nd At The Melody Bar
The Elucid Opened Up. I Didn't Like Them Really At All, To Emo For My Taste. Then For The Love Of... Played, They Had Like A Million Dollars Worth Of Equipment. They Had Three Stacks, With Professional Heads, And A Monster Mack Drum Set. They Were Awesome, METAL. In One Of There Songs They Started Hitting An Anvil They Brought With A Hammer, Sparks Were Flying Everywhere. Smash, Fire. Anyway Then Ire Went On. They Are All The Way From Montreal. They Were Great. The Mic Broke In The First Song So That Sucked. So They Got A New Mic And Then They Got Back To The Death. Towards The End Of Their Set They Brought Out All Of These Drums And A Bunch Of People Started Doing, Like Tribal Drums Or Something. It Was Smashalicious. Then Cave In Went On. They Played Great, They Played A Lot Of Their New Stuff That I Never Heard, But I Was Never that Much Of A Fan. I Mean They Are Good And They Made Me Want To Destroy, But I Don't Know. Just The Wussy Stuff Used To Get To Me. It Doesn't Really Bother Me Anymore Though. As I'm Writing This I'm Listing To Piebald, Go Figure. BoE? Uh, Sons Of Abraham Didn't Play Because They Broke Up. Anyway The Show Was Really Good. "Now Back To The Metal" - "Let's See Some Fucking Blood"--Converge. Ha Ha, BoE. Anyway The Bassist From The Dillinger Escape Plan Got Into A Car Accident And Is Paralyzed. He's In The Hospital, So A Bunch Of The Bands Here Are Going To Do Benefits For Him, Visit The The A*Doll Foundation. So Like Keep That Dude In Your Prayers And Stuff. Anyway, I Love Girls.
MORE TO COME, i DiDN'T POST A LOT OF SHOWS DUE TO LAZYNESS
i'm planning on having the Soul Brains !"Bad Brains"!, reunion, God Forbid show up soon
