Chapter 7

“Whatever happened with you and Brian?” I asked Kari as we lugged our suitcases into our hotel room in Charlotte.

“He said he wants to get to know me better before we go out officially as a couple, but Nick invited us to go with you two tonight so we’re coming,” Kari replied as she flopped down on her bed. “Amy I was thinking-”

“Careful, that may hurt,” I teased.

Kari rolled her eyes. “Like I was saying, do you think we should like, tell the guys how we really got to be on tour with them?”

“You mean, tell them we lied to Donna about being the new make up girls? No way! What if one of them told Donna? We’d get fired and the guys would hate us for lying to them. No, we shouldn’t.”

“Are you sure Amy?” Kari asked uneasily.

“I’m positive Kar! It’s best if we don’t tell them the story. At least, not yet.”

“Alright.” We went back to unpacking our things, but little did we know someone was listening.

A little while later Kari and I were getting ready for our date when there was a knock at the door. I ran to answer it.

“Hey Nick,” I said as I flung open the door.

“I’m not Nick, I’m Brian.”

“Sorry,” I said sheepishly.

“You girls almost ready?”

“Yeah we’re all ready. C’mon Kari!” I called.

Kari cautiously stepped into our view. “Hey Brian,” she said shyly. She was wearing a mint green tank top, a short black shirt, and black sandals. Her hair was done in a messy bun.

“Wow, you look incredible,” Brian said as he took hold of Kari’s hand. “Nick’s waiting in the lobby, let’s go.” As we got to the lobby, Nick ran up to us.

“Amy you look beautiful,” Nick said, gently kissing my cheek. I was wearing a blue sundress with embroidered flowers and white sandals. My hair hung loose.

I blushed. “Thanks Nick. Where are we going?”

He smiled. “You’ll see.” Brian and Nick’s bodyguard Ron gave us a ride to an Italian restaurant not far from the hotel.

“I hope you girls don’t mind us wearing these sunglasses in the restaurant,” Brian said as we got out of the car and Ron sped away. “We don’t want to take any chances of being recognized.”

“It’s okay,” Kari replied. We got into the restaurant and sat down.

“Here are your...ohmigod! You’re Brian and Nick!!” our waitress shrieked. “Ohmigod I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe! Ohmigod!!!”

“Could you please keep it down a little?” Nick pleaded.

The girl looked at us as if she finally realized we were there. “And just who are these two sluts?” she asked coldly.

“Um excuse me, but we’re not sluts.” Kari answered angrily.

“Yeah whatever,” the waitress said under her breath.

“What did you say?” I asked.

She ignored me and jumped unto Nick’s lap. “You’re sooo cute,” she purred while stroking his cheek.

That enraged me. “Excuse me, but you need to get off him right now.”

“Oh yeah, what are you gonna do about it?”

“This!” I punched the girl square in the face, knocking her off Nick and startling everyone in the restaurant. Everyone was trying to see what was going on, which caused more commotion as more and more BSB fans spotted Nick and Brian.

“You bitch!” she swore. She got up and tried to punch me back, but Kari pushed her back down.

“Let’s get outta here!” Nick grabbed me and Brian grabbed Kari and they dragged us out of the restaurant.

“Gee, that went well,” Nick sighed as we walked down the street.

“I’m sorry Nick, but when I saw that bitch jump in your lap it was too much.”

“That was awesome Amy!” Brian said. “I wanted to punch her myself!”

“Good job Aim,” Kari congratulated me. “I say we go for ice cream to celebrate.”

“Celebrate what? The fact that I punched some bitchy waitress in the face and hurt my hand?”

“Yeah.”

I shrugged. “Works for me.” So we stopped at the first ice cream parlor we saw.

“What do you guys want to do after this?” Nick asked as he licked his ice cream cone.

“Sleep.” Kari yawned. “I’m exhausted.”

“Me too,” Brian agreed as he took the last bite of his ice cream. “We have two interviews and a concert tomorrow.”

“Does that mean I won’t get to see you all day tomorrow?” I asked Nick with a pout.

“Yeah, but we’ll be on the bus for 2 days starting the tomorrow,” Nick said.

After everyone had finished, we walked back to the hotel, and Nick walked me to my room.

“Are you tired?” Nick asked me.

“Not really, are you?”

“Nope. Wanna come back down to my room and watch TV?”

“Okay.”

Nick and I went back down to his room and watched TV until we both fell asleep.
