As They Slip Away...

Looking at the Sunrise
A new day has come about
Another day I have everything
But your love which I’m without

The thoughts of your sweet kiss
And your soft caress
Reminds me of the times
I only knew happiness

Looking outside the window
Waiting for you to appear
Brings a tear of happiness
Thinking you were here

Doomed to hide within these walls
For countless hours and days
Praying that this pain I feel
Is just a passing phase

Sitting awake with fear all night
`Till the redeeming Sunrise
When anxiety is wiped away
From wide and tearing eyes

Counting the weeks, one by one
Day after passing day
A tear is shed regretfully
As they slip away
