Embrace

The night fog surrounds me
But it cannot hold me
I can't hug the air
Emptiness fills me
Coldness chills me
As it kisses my skin and hair
My head, it spins
My heart, it sins
In my belly a beehive swarms
I cry to be embraced
Some warmness to taste
But loneliness has no arms
I draw my arms across my chest
Pulling them close in a futile test
Hoping the chill to erase
But I stay just as cold
For my arms cannot hold
Warmth in my own embrace
So I feel all the more alone
And as if I swallowed a stone
Heartbreak has no charms
With drops on my face
I cry for an embrace
But loneliness has no arms
