Her

At war there was a soldier boy
Home was far away
He didn’t know the mine was there
It almost blew him away

Lying in a hospital bed
Doctors said he should be dead
But he kept thinkin’ of his wife
And thoughts of her had saved his life

And it’s her eyes that show the way
It’s her smile that warms the gray
It’s her face that keeps fear at bay
It’s her love that saves the day

The lonely captain of a ship
Has no one to call his own
But the mem’ry of a lady
That he left at home

He would’ve taken her if he can
But she wasn’t willing to leave the land
So the captain sails the sea
But it’s her face, he longs to see

And it’s her eyes that show the way
It’s her smile that warms the gray
It’s her face that keeps fear at bay
It’s her love that saves the day

He pushed himself past the line
And instead of bending he just snapped
His life just crumbled into dust
And by anxiety he was attacked

He shut the world out of his head
And all he wanted was to go to bed
But he healed himself (every part)
For he wanted to win her heart

And it’s her eyes that show the way
It’s her smile that warms the gray
It’s her face that keeps fear at bay
It’s her love that saves the day
