The
Supplicant
My love
for you swells my heart to bursting;
Wanting to express this abundance
But I fear importunity in my locution
How do I appeal to you; entreat your heart?
I wish to beseech your heart's reciprocation
But eschew vexation in my heart's plead
And here I supplicate with only my affection to proffer
Praying my sentiment does not go unrequited
Or worse, breeds apprehension;
I wish not you trepidation
I merely desire to love you freely
But fear turns my love to tears
Concerned that my passion offends
