>>Chapter 5<<

Journal,

Leave it to this genius over here to get his answering machine. I mean, it took me so much courage to pick up that phone and call him, and after five rings what do I get? “Hello… You got Joey, I’m not here right now, leave a message and I’ll get back to you”

Great. Real great.

Now it’s his turn in the phone tag I just started.

Journal,

No luck.

No call.

Journal,

I called him again. I couldn’t wait. I got another beep though. So he got another message from me. Why hasn’t he called back yet? It’s been three days. THREE DAYS. I think I’m hyperventilating over here. But I’m not really sure. I’ve never hyperventilated before.

If I stare at my phone hard enough do you think it will ring?

Journal,

Dear God,

Why are you punishing me? Why do I always get the answering machine every time I call Joey? Why does Joey never call me back? Is it because that time I cut my best friends hair in fifth grade? Or how about the time I told that kid he was too ugly for me after he asked me out? You know, I bet its because Scully. I promise to throw away my “Scully Death Charts” if you make Joey call me. I promise I will only think of Scully in a good way from here on out no matter how close she gets to Mulder.

PLEASE GOD PLEASE. Just let him call. For the love of you and all that is, ONE PHONE CALL is all that I’m asking for. It’s not too much. I could be asking for a BMW, or a yacht or something of that caliber, but I’m ONLY asking for a phone call here. Throw me a bone here God.

Why are you doing this to me? I can’t figure this out. WHY?

WAIT GOD. I’m sorry to place the blame on you. Maybe Joey has lost the ability to use a phone. There is only one way to find out.

Quick God, fetch my keys and start the car, I’m goin to Joey’s apartment.
