In 1998, Nancy gave a Christian concert at Count Basie, for the benefit of LOVE, INC. She had always wanted to return to Count Basie. Those attending the concert are also asked to bring a nonperishable food item for immediate assistance to the needy. Nancy shares her story of how the idea for the concert came about: “The last few years, I had been giving Christmas concerts around the state of NJ, and also in Florida. I had always thought about doing a Christmas concert at Count Basie Theatre. But it was last year, Christmas of 2005 that confirmed my decision. When a woman who had attended the Christmas cantata, came up to me afterwards and said: ˜This is what Christmas is all about. It’s about the birth of Jesus. , her heartfelt words touched me deeply. I wanted to share the true meaning of Christmas, help LOVE, INC, and also promote the food drive. With recent attacks on Christmas, I am praying that this concert will reach out to unbelievers, the unchurched, as well as believers, so that all will share the true meaning of Christmas.
