"Taylor, that wasn't fair!" Casey yelled to her neighbor and friend, Taylor Hanson, as she picked herself up off the pavement and rubbed her scraped elbow. "It's not my fault you can't score a goal on me!"
"I can too!" Taylor tried to defend himself with no avail. Whenever he got into an argument with Casey, she always won, on account that she was extremely stubborn and didn't shut up till she made her point. "Fine, I guess it was a penalty, Casey..." he quickly added as soon as he saw her glaring at him.
"Tay!" Taylor's older brother, Isaac, called from inside the house. "C'mon inside, we have to practice!"
"He's busy, Ike!" Casey yelled, "We're in the middle of playing hockey! You and Zac can wait 10 or 15 minutes!"
"Fine," Ike sighed, "Hurry up!"
Taylor practiced shooting on Casey for the next 10 minutes, as she blocked every single shot he attempted.
"Casey, I gotta go in now!" Taylor complained, defeated. "We really have to practice."
"Fine!" Casey shot back at him, "How come you guys never let me listen to you?!"
"Because you'd find something wrong and we'd have to fix it the way you like it!"
"No you wouldn't!" Casey shot back, looking hurt. "I'm going home, I'll see you later." With that, she picked up the hockey puck and her stick and skated down the street.
"Casey!" Taylor yelled. She gets way to upset over things , Tay thought as he walked inside.
"Casey left?" Isaac asked his 10 year old brother when he got down to the garage of their house.
"Yeah," Taylor sighed, "She got all mad at me again."
"What'd you do this time, Tay?" Ike asked.
"I said she couldn't come listen to us because she'd find something wrong."
"Just let her come over one day, like tomorrow, after she has school. She won't criticize much, Tay, you should know that by now."
"I guess..." Tay replied, thinking hard. "She just gets annoying sometimes, and if I say anything, she gets all mad or upset and goes right home."
"Don't worry Tay, girls are just like that sometimes."
"Hi, Mrs. Macaluso, is Casey there?...Yes, I'm fine...she's OK...I'll tell her that...can I please speak to Casey?...hi Casey."
"What do you want!" Casey yelled into the phone, still sounding offended.
"I wanted to know if you'd like to come over to hear me and my brothers practice."
"I'll kill you if you're doing this to make fun of me, Taylor!" she angrily shouted.
"No, I'm serious, come on, we'll be in the garage."
"OK, I'll be right over!"
"See you in a few, Casey."
"Bye, Tay!" casey happily called as she hung up the phone and rushed to get her shoes on.
"What was I thinking?Tay asked himself over and over as he waited for Casey to arrive.
