"Oh my god!" Kristi whispered loudly to Casey in the van on the way to the hotel where Hanson was staying. "Kristi, stop it!" Casey told her.
"Casey, it's OK." Taylor laughed. Kristi turned bright red, very embarassed that Taylor had heard her.
"Taylor, want help with the bags and stuff?" Casey asked as they pulled into the drieveway of the hotel.
"Oh yeah," he answered, "Thanks!" Everyone in the car helped bring the bags to the hotel rooms, even Mackie brought in some stuff. "Hey, can we go sightseeing?" Taylor asked his parents after they had all finished unpacking.
"I don't know..." Diana answered, looking worried. "Things could happen..it is New York you know."
"Oh, Mrs. Hanson, please?" Casey asked. "I know where everything is around here. Nothing will happen."
"Well, I guess so..." Diana sighed. "Just be back before 5, OK?"
"Thanks mom!" Taylor yelled as he ran out of the room, with Casey and Kristi not far behind.
"Cool, can we go in here?" Taylor asked Casey, pointing to the door of a shoe store that had a display of Doc Martens in the front window.
"Ok, I guess," Casey smiled, looking at Kristi, who looked like she was still in shock. So far, they hadn't met up with any obsessed fans, at least no one who ran up to Taylor screaming or anything.
"Sweet," Taylor said, looking at a pair of red Docs he had just tried on. "These rock!"
"They're nice, I guess." Casey shrugged. She wasn't a big fan of boots. She looked over at Kristi, who had been very quiet so far.
"Well, I think they look really good." Kristi told Tay.
"Thanks," he told her.
"Hey Tay!" Casey called, "I wanna buy these, k? Don't leave the store without me." she called, holding up a pair of green and blue mary jane Docs. "I won't leave." he told her.
"Oh my god! It's Taylor Hanson!!" a girl screamed while they were still wandering the streets on their way back to the hotel.
"Oh crap!" Casey yelled. "I forgot that people here actually would notice you out on the street. I'm so stupid!"
"It's OK." Taylor told her. "As long as it's only her, we're fine, I guess...but if a lot of screaming girls come running over here, then I think we should run back to the hotel so they don't kill me or something."
"OK," Casey had to laugh. Taylor was really weird sometimes.
"Oh my god!" the girl screamed as she came over to Taylor, Casey, and Kristi, "You're Taylor Hanson."
"Yeah, hi." he told her.
"Hi, I'm Laura. Oh wow, you are so awesome!"
"Thanks, I guess."
"I didn't know you were going to be in New York so early," Laura told him. "The first thing you're doing is Arthur Ashe, right?"
"Yeah, but we came early to see some friends." he told her. At least this girl was nice and didn't seem obsessed. He was surprised that she hadn't said anything about Casey and Kristi yet. He knew most girls probably would have.
"Oh, that's cool." she answered. "Are those them?" she asked, pointing at Casey and Kristi.
"Well, she is. Oh, yeah, this is my friend Casey and her friend Kristi. I lived next door to Casey in Tulsa, but then she moved here."
"Oh," Laura answered, looking relieved, "Nice to meet you."
"Well, we kinda have to go...sorry. My mom will shoot me if I'm late getting home." Tay told Laura.
"Your mom will shoot me too!" Casey laughed.
"Hey, maybe we'll see you somewhere Laura."
"Ok, well, bye! It was nice to meet all of you!" Laura told them, not looking at all dissapointed.
"Hey, maybe I'll see you around!" Tay called, walking off. He thought it was nice that she didn't freak out.
