"Tay, you know you can never beat me at hockey, so why are you even trying?" Casey asked him as he took shots on her before Rachel and Kelly came.
"I can always try." he said to her, sighing. He knew she was probably right, especally since he didn't have too much time for sports anymore, being in a big band and all.
"Tay, are those the girls we're meeting?" she asked when she saw 2 girls walking down the street.
"Yeah, those are them." he said, waving.
"Taylor, if the one with the brown hair who's freaking out is her, I think I'm going to shoot myself."
"No, it's not. That must be her friend." he grimaced. "I think this should prove an interesting game, don't you?"
"If she tries anything, I swear, I'm going to knock her out."
"Who, Rachel?"
"No, stupid, but her too. The one who's a spaz." Tay laughed.
"Hi Rachel." he said to her. "Rachel, this is my friend Casey. Casey, this is Rachel."
"Nice to meet you." Rachel said.
"Yeah, you too." Casey said, looking at the ground.
"This is my friend Kelly." Rachel told them.
"Oh my god, hi." Kelly said to Taylor, timidly.
"Hi." he said to her.
"Hello Kelly." Casey said to her, with a fake smile on her face. The way things were going, she could deal with Rachel, but she wasn't so sure about Kelly. "C'mon, let's play hockey."
"Ok." Tay said. Rachel, you can be on a team with Casey, and I'll be with Kelly." Casey shot Tay a dirty look. She would rather be on a team with the spaz.
"Oh my god, are you OK Kelly?" Rachel ran over to her friend, who now lay on the street.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Casey said, "You should have been paying attention to the puck though." she smiled.
"Casey, can we talk?" Tay asked her.
"Sure, I told you what I would do if she pissed me off."
"But still, what was she doing that was that bad?"
"Tay, she was hanging on you like a fucking puppy. She was slobbering all over you. I thought I was going to throw up. You should just be happy your girlfriend didn't piss me off yet."
"Thanks for being so kind." he said, sarcastically. "Are you OK Kelly?" he asked.
"I guess so." she said, gasping.
"When you get shot in the stomach, it knocks the wind out of you, doesn't it?" Casey asked her, sympathetically. "You'll be fine in a few minutes though. Tay and I are just going to practice some shots while we wait for you, OK?"
"C'mon Kelly." Rachel said, as they sat down on the sidewalk.
"Rach, I really don't think she likes me." Kelly told her friend.
"What do you mean? You heard her, it was an accident that she hit you in the stomach."
"I know, but I just get the impression that she doesn't like me, you should have seen the way she was looking at me the whole time we were playing."
"Kelly, she's really nice, what are you talking about. I bet you're just imagining it. She's a little protective of Tay sometimes, but-"
"Heads!" Casey called as a puck whizzed by Kelly and Rachel's heads. "Fuck, I missed." she mumbled to herself. "Sorry about that!"
"See what I mean?" Kelly said.
"Kelly it was an accident. The puck probably bounced when she blocked the shot, it's no big deal."
"I think I'm going to leave. You stay here, OK?"
"C'mon Kelly, don't be like that."
"Goodbye Rach, call me when you get home." Kelly got up and started walking away.
"Well look who got a stick up her ass." Casey mumbled to Tay.
"That's not nice." he said.
"Fuck you. She left, just like I wanted. You knew it was going to happen."
"Rach, why did she leave?" Tay asked.
"Her stomach was still sore and she wasn't in the mood to play anymore. It's OK though, she'll be fine." Rachel smiled.
"Oh, that's too bad. I was looking forward to playing some more hockey with her." Casey said in sincere voice.
"Bye Rachel!" Casey and Tay called to her as she left.
"See you guys tomorrow!" she called as she walked away. Wow she thought to herself, Casey is so different than I thought.
"Taylor?" Casey said to him, smiling. "I think I'm going to like your new girlfriend. One thing though, she's bad at lying. I could see right through her."
"I will never understand you Casey," Tay said to her, shaking his head, "Never."
