"Casey, Taylor's here!" Mrs. Macaluso yelled up the stairs to her daugher.
"Casey!" she called again after there was no answer.
"Just go on up to her room, Taylor. She's probably listening to music."
"Ok," Taylor replied as he ran up the stairs to her room. She was laying on her bed, listening to some group Tay had never heard of before.
"Hey Casey, guess what?" He called over the music.
Casey jumped, then glared at him. "Don't scare me like that!" she warned. "What are you so happy about," she asked, her expression softening.
"Me and my nrothers are going to record a CD!"
"Really, Tay..." she said, sarcastically.
"I swear!"
"You're really serious?" Casey asked, unsure of herself.
"Yeah. Isn't that great!?"
"You have to be kidding!" Casey yelled, speechless. "That is sooo cool!"
"I know, it's great!" Tay replied, a huge grin on his face.
In the kitchen, Diana Hanson and Jaime Macaluso talked quietly. "Yeah, Tony suddenly had an urge to expand his business, so we're going to New York for a couple of years. I hope it works out alright. I just don't know how to break it to Casey that we're leaving Tulsa for a few years. She'll be devastated."
"You haven't told her yet?"
"No, I can't. She'll be so upset, especially because she won't be able to see Taylor anymore. Those 2 are inseparable. If we go away for a week, she can't wait to come home and see Taylor. I can't imagine a few years."
"I know Taylor's going to feel the same way. They see each other every day. When are you leaving?"
"In 3 weeks, we're keeping the house here and everything, and renting a house in the city, so it shouldn't be too bad."
"Mmmmmm, well, I really have to get going, it's 11:30 already! I'll talk to you tomorrow, Jaime.
"Mom!" Casey yelled, close to tears, "We can't move out of Tulsa! Everyone's here! We can't go!"
"Casey, I already explained this. We're only going for a few years. It's for your father's job! We have to!"
"NO! I'm not moving! You can't make me! I'll stay here wirh Taylor! I'm not moving!" Casey screamed as she ran up the stairs to her room, crying hysterically."
"Casey, you can't move!" Taylor yelled into the phone. "Why!?"
"I have to!" Casey choked back tears. "I'll hate it in New York! I want to stay in Tulsa!"
"Casey, don't leave! Please! You could stay at my house!" Taylor pleaded with his friend.
"Tay, I have to go pack."
"Casey!"
"Bye." Taylor heard her sobbing as she hung up the phone. He was close to tears himself. How could his best friend just leave him like that? It wasn't fair at all.
"Taylor!" Casey sobbed. "Tell them to let me stay with you! Please?" Casey's parents were trying to get her into the car to go to the airport. Taylor couldn't believe it! Casey was actually leaving! It really wasn't fair. "Taylor!" Casey pleaded with him as he turned away to hide his tears.
"Casey, we have to go now." Jaime Macaluso calmly told her daughter.
"No!" Casey ran over to Taylor and they hugged each other. Casey will still sobbing, while Tay tried to choke back his tears.
"C'mon Casey." her mother told her, pulling her into the car.
"Bye Taylor!" Casey sobbed as the car finally drove off.
"As soon as we get to the airport, buy me a plane ticket home!" Casey demanded on the plane. "I'll stay with Taylor, he won't mind."
"Shhh, Casey, you're making a scene. You will stay in New York with your father and me for however long we stay!"
"NO I WON'T!" Casey screamed so loudly the whole plane looked at her. "I HATE NEW YORK!!!"
