"Tay!?" Casey asked Taylor, the day before she left Tulsa.
"What?" Tay asked, his eyes glued to the TV.
"I can't believe I'm going to leave tomorrow! It hasn't seemed like 2 weeks already."
"I know." Taylor sighed, suddenly assertive. "I can't believe you're going to leave again!"
"Yeah..." Casey trailed off, trying not to look like she was about to cry. "I wish my stupid parents never decided to leave Tulsa."
"Casey..." Tay warned her. "You know that you had to. And besides, it was 4 years ago." Tay knew he had just made it worse while trying to make it better. He felt like kicking himself.
"Thanks a bunch, Tay!" Casey answered sarcastically, running upstairs. As she ran by the door to Taylor's room, she saw Zac messing around with some Legos. "Hi, Zac." Casey said glumly as she walked into to room.
"What's wrong Casey?" Zac asked her, looking concerned. "Why aren't you downstairs with Tay?"
"Because, he's acting like an idiot again. How come he always says things that make it worse? Even when I lived here, he said things like that." Casey looked so upset, Zac thought she was going to cry.
"But Casey, Tay doesn't mean it!" he tried to plead with her.
"How do you know!" she answered.
"Casey, I've been brothers with him and lived in the same house, no, the same room with him for 11 years! Actually, the last time he did something like that, he came in here and sat for hours, asking me and Ike why he was so dumb to say that because he wasn't trying to make it worse Casey, he was trying to make you feel better!" Zac just looked at Casey.
"Really?" she looked at him uncertainly. Even though she knew so much about Tay, it was impossible to know how he really felt all the time. That was something she thought Zac might have to be right on.
"Casey," Zac told her. "Tay gets so upset after he makes you so upset. I swear, it kills him when he does that. He's never wanted to do anything to hurt you."
"Really?" Casey asked again, starting to smile. "Are you sure?"
"Yes!" Zac sighed. I think you should go find him and just hang out for the rest of the day. I can't believe you're leaving again so soon. It seriously feels so much like old times with you around. You know, Tay was crushed when you moved."
"You don't want to see how I bugged my parents for a while when we moved. I wouldn't shut up on the way to the airport or anything."
"For some reason, I don't doubt that Casey!" Zac laughed. Anyway, you better go find him. You know, he'll be really happy when you decide to hang out with him after only a half hour!"
"I guess. Thanks a lot Zac!" Casey chirped, running out of the room. Zac smiled. Tay really was a lot happier when Casey was around. Oh well.
"Tay, I can't believe I'm leaving again." Casey told him at the airport the next morning. "I don't want to. I'm going to miss you so much!"
"Casey, look on the bright side." Tay told her. "We'll still talk on the phone all the time and we're probably going to go to New York before the summer's over."
"But Tay, it's not the same as being here in Tulsa again." Casey told him.
"I know. But Casey, cheer up, please? I swear, if you don't before we really have to leave, I'm gonna cry or something." he pleaded with her.
"Awwww, Tay," Casey smiled and gave him a hug. "Holy crap!" she said, listening to the voice over the speakers in the airport. My plane's boarding."
"I guess then, you have to go..." he trailed off, choking back tears.
"Yeah." Casey looked sad. "I guess. I'll call you tomorow. Bye Taylor. I'm gonna miss being here in Tulsa with you."
"I'm going to miss you too. Bye Casey..."
"Yeah, bye." Casey sighed, crying once again. Casey hugged Tay, buring her face in his shirt. Tay was crying a little bit too. She really hated to leave Tulsa. They both just stood there like that in the airport until the voice came over the speakers saying that it was the last call to board Casey's flight.
"Bye, Tay." Casey said once more as he walked her to the flight gate.
"Bye." he gave her one quick kiss before the flight attendant ushered her to the plane.
