Interlude 6

"It really pissed me off when Tay left again. I finally though that for once it would be like the old times in Tulsa. But it never was-still hasn't been yet." Casey told Josh harshly.

"But Casey, what did you expect?" Josh asked her. "You know he had to do that."

"Yeah, but I wish he could have spent some more time in New York. I wish none of this had ever happened. Not that Taylor didn't become famous-I'm glad he did, he deserved to- but that I never left Tulsa and that we could just--" Casey was starting to sob again.

"Casey-it's really OK." Josh comforted her, putting his arms around her shoulders.

"No, it's really not." Casey choked out. "If I didn't go away to live here, then Tay would be fine, and I wouldn't have to be waiting forever to get to the hospital and go see him..."

"Casey, it's not your fault! Why don't you just keep telling me about when you and Taylor were younger..."

"Well," Casey said thoughtfully through her tears, "That's when Hanson became a lot more famous. People got crazy and stuff. Hanson was away in England for 2 months. That's when I met your brother..."
