"Taylor, wake up!" Casey yelled, shaking his shoulders violently. "You're going to be late!"
"Ugh," Tay groaned, pulling his sheet up over his head. "Go away."
"Time to go to work!" cheerfully continued. "I made you breakfast, it's on the table. It's 7:25 now, and you have to be there at 8, which means you have to leave here by 7:45. You have 20 minutes to eat and get dressed."
"But Casey..." he trailed off, "My brother's here."
"I don't care if the President was here, you'd still be going to your first day of work, and you can't be late."
"Oh, come on." he whined.
"Work, now. Josh will meet you in the reception area." Taylor replied by turning away from Casey. She clenched her jaws and fists as she left the room in frustration.
Taylor reached the office building very tired. He wished that he could just go back to the apartment. 8 was too early to go to work, especially when his brother had just come the day before to visit. He opened the door and went inside.
"Hi, you must be Taylor, I haven't seen you in a while." Josh greeted him.
"Yeah, hi."
"How's Casey doing?"
"Fine, she's with my brother now, he came to visit."
"Oh, that's great! Well, I'll take you to your office, it's on the second floor." Josh smiled as he led Taylor to the elevator. "I hope you enjoy working here, it's a great place to have a job at, a lot of interesting people come here." Josh continued to an unresponsive Taylor.
They exited the elevator and went down the hallway to the last door on the left. Josh opened the door into a small room. "This is your office, you're working for Mr. Tony Capone." He knocked on the door to the office. "Mr. Capone, your new receptionist, Taylor Hanson is here."
"Send him in." he replied in a gruff voice.
"Bye man," Josh told Taylor, patting him on the shoulder as he walked out.
Taylor opened the door to the office and wheeled in. Mr. Capone was a dark, Italian looking man with graying hair. He wore a designer suit, and had a harsh look about him. "Hello Mr. Capone." Taylor said to him in a somewhat timid voice.
"I'll be going over all the office procedures with you now, so listen carefully."
"What do you mean?" Casey asked her boss, her cheeks turning red with anger. "You gave me this week off because my roommate's brother is here."
"Why can't your roommate occupy his own brother's time?"
Casey clenched her fists. "I have to take care of my roommate and occupy his time, and now I have to do both for this week, I need the week off."
"Your quality of work has been going down recently also, Casey."
"No, it hasn't, and can we not discuss this now." she hissed at her boss.
"I'm sorry Casey, but it's imperative to speak about it now."
"No!" Casey cried out in a burst of anger.
"Your shift starts at 7 tonight."
"I don't think so." she glared at him, grabbed Ike's arm and stormed out. "I can't believe him!" she cried as she got outside. "Do you believe him!"
"Calm down Casey." Ike told her, putting his hand on her shoulder. She pushed him away, giving him a dirty look.
"No, it's not OK, he can't tell me I have to work when he already told me I didn't, and he has no right to say I haven't been working hard lately, and most of all, he should have waited until I was alone, not embarrassed me in front of my friends!" Casey was clenching her fists as hard as she could.
"Hey, come on," Isaac told her, putting his hand on her shoulder, "Forget about it, let's just go and chill and have a good time, ok?"
"Fine." Casey reluctantly replied, eying the restaraunt as she walked away.
"We'll go out for lunch, are there any good places to eat around here?"
"We can take the subway to a nice place..." Casey replied.
"Sounds good to me," Ike answered as they walked to the subway. It was crowded, but they soon got to their stop and left.
"It's two blocks over." Casey told him as they reached the street and continued walking. She led him to a small diner. "This place has the best sandwiches you'll ever eat." she told him as they sat down.
Taylor sat in front of the computer screen at his new desk. His boss, Mr. Capone, came off as a very harsh man. It had taken him over an hour to explain all of his office procedures to Taylor and he hoped that he wouldn't forget anything.
"Hey, how's it going?" Josh asked him, popping his head in through the semi-open door.
"It's alright." Tay answered, making a face.
"That's what I thought." he paused, then continued, "he's a nice man once you get to know him. Anyway, I have my lunch break now and I was wondering if you'd like to come with me."
"Hold on, I'll ask." Tay answered as he wheeled over the the door to Mr. Capone's office and knocked. "Mr. Capone, can I take my lunch break now?"
"You have 45 minutes, make sure you have the voicemail on in case I get any messages." he gruffly replied.
"Let's go," Josh told him, motioning towards the door.
