On page four I mentioned that dreams, especially nightmares, are a source of information for growth. How do I know this? Well for those of you who like to read the Bible, or any source of esoteric reading, you will find many references to dreams as the primary way that the creative force communicates with man.

Weak creatures that we are, ruled by fears that we are taught from a very young age by our parents, schools, churches (of all kinds); we fear the unknown and most experiences of a mystical nature are definitely outside the pale of what is considered a "normal" life.

People who see visions while awake, and claim to be talking to spirits or to the creative force are seen as "wackos" or fakes. But it is perfectly "ok" to have a dream, and tell someone that you had the weirdest dream the other night, and no one blinks an eye.

Additionally, we can not really view beings at higher vibrations for very long in the waking state as their emanations are extremely bright and their vibrational rate is so powerful, that one can become quite afraid of what is happening.

So in kindness and love, God (or creative force ) said to the prohpets, "I shall send you it in a dream." I bet a great many of you can recall how many times dreams are mentioned in Bible lore. Dreams are definitely part of the New Age movement (are they still calling it that?).

Mary had a visitation while awake which proves she was a very special human being.

Joseph however, had a couple of dreams---one dream was that it was "ok" to marry Mary, and the other one that he had was to take Mary and Jesus out of Nazareth and into the land of Egypt.

Now I mean no disrespect to the story of Mary, Joseph and Jesus. I was raised on the Bible stories. However, I have come to believe that these three extraordinary human beings were avatars or great beings of light who compassionately agreed to vibrate down to the third dimensional plane in order to help us all through their teachings and the example of their lives.

Their are other examples. Noah dreamed the entire construction of the Ark. When he awoke, he drew it for his sons and they built it in absolute faith and belief. Could any of us take a risk like that on a dream?

Sara, wife of Abraham, the founder of the Jewish nation, dreamed that she would bear a child in her old age. She did.

Elizabeth, Mary's cousin, dreamed Mary was coming to visit her and she greeted Mary with the words she heard in the dream,:"Hail Mary....etc". Some one half million Catholics repeat those ancient dream words as a prayer nearly every day.

So dreams have value. What kind of dreams have the kind of impact like those of the examples above? Well there are some very interesting studies being done about dreams. Researchers in the dream field are calling dreams of this nature, "Lucid Dreaming" and are hailing lucid dreaming as a powerful tool in healing yourself or a situation in your life.

How are angels and lucid dreaming connected? I see it this way:

If I am praying or chanting, and I am asking for guidance or help, and then I have a dream that stays with me---can not shake it---my answer is probably right in the symbols of the dream. If the dream is a nightmare of terrible proportions, and I have to leave the lights on for a few days before I can sleep right, well, then I know I had better get to work and figure out what I need to learn before the thing I requested can be given to me.

Dreams sent to us are for education, enlightenment, and for growth.

An interesting thing about lucid dreaming is that you can be trained to "awake" within the dream and manipulate the dream so that it comes out the way you want it to.

This is important to know as there is a growing circle of mystical thought that the body is simply one big living computer that our souls or spirits program; exactly the way you would program a computer sitting on your desk in your den or office. The body which does not live without the soul or spirit can only do what it is programmed to do. It is not capable of independant thought without the spirit/soul. Interesting.

It seems as if more and more of what we do and who we are can no longer be found outside of ourselves. Everything comes back to us and what we believe and how we think, and what we ultimately decide. Whatever comes to us because of what we decide to do is really our own responsibility.
