How To Start And What You Need

Hello, thanks for visiting and inquiring about how to start to collecting autographs through the mail and the materials a collector must have.

First off a collector must have the address of the player they would like to write to, this address can be a home or team address. Which can be found on mine or any other good site. Tuff Stuff, Beckett and other magazines list address, along with the World Almanac.

Now, pick out something you would like autographed, such as a sports card or index card. Next, a collector needs to write a letter that should not be more than a page long. Include why you like that player and ask politely for an autograph. Last, but not least, a SELF - ADDRESSES, STAMPED - ENVELOPE or SASE, this should not be a big envelope, I like to use 3 5/8 in. by 6 1/2 in. ones. This is probably the most important element in deciding if you receive a response or not.

The Recap-

1.) Find an address and address and stamp a business size envelope.

2.) Write a nice letter.

3.) Find something you would like autographed.

4.) Make out a SASE.

5.) Put the letter, item and SASE in the business envelope. Mail it and wait for the reward.
