This bunker was built on the beach way back
in the early 1940's. If WW II had gone the other way,
it would have been one of the last lines of defense
along the New Jersey shore. From what I can gather, it was
totally buried when it was built. Time and erosion
have left it like it is now.

I'm putting a link to an interesting article about it
for anybody who is interested. It's even said
that it may be haunted.
