We arrived at the restaurant after 30 minutes of driving. God how much I wanted to get out of that car. The tension between me and Scott was so great that I don't think anyone could take anymore.
'Table for 8 please' J told the waiter. He led us through a maze of tables and finally seated us in a quiet corner.
'Don't you love their accents?' Mel gushed when her and Abs reached the table.
'Lovely' Amanda nodded 'The whole thing of driving on the right side of the road though freaks me out...no matter how many times I've been here'
'So what will you be having?' A old man, obviously a waiter asked us.
'Chill man' Ritch told him 'We just sat down' We all nodded, the waiter smiled fakely and slipped away. 'Impatient people' J mumbled.
'You know Americans...they want everything in a hurry' Abs laughed.
'Thats what I call fast food' Scott added with laughter.
I glanced at him, his eyes caught mine and his smile faded quickly.
'Ohh...the mushroom fettuccini alferdo sounds good' Mel said as she glanced over the menu.
I let out a quiet groan at her joy. Thankfully no one heard.
'I'll have that' Scott announced, he smiled at Mel who returned his smile. I could feel the anger rise up in me, was he doing this to annoy me?
'Sounds great, I'll have it too!' J exclaimed, proud of himself.
I sighed loudly, this is going to be a long night.
After everything was gone off our plates, we all sat engrossed in our own conversations.
'I'm stuffed!' Abs groaned 'Bloated too!'
'Eww!' I yelled 'We didn't need to know that!'
'Some information should be kept on the side mate' J patted him on the back.
'Right...I'll keep that in mind' Abs nodded, quite ashamed of himself.
'So what do we after this?' Ritch asked.
'How about we'll split up and go to a club?' J proposed.
'Sounds awesome!' Mel shrieked excited. I noticed Autumn's eyes roll at her.
'Awesome' she mimicked quietly to herself. But everyone heard. Silence fell upon us. I watched Mel then Autumn...something was going down.
'Whats your problem!' Mel snapped.
'You are!' Autumn yelled back 'Ever since you got here, you've been parading around happily like nothing happened! You're not talking to your best friends and you're flirting with my man!'
'First of all...you shouldn't even be considering yourself my best friend!' Mel yelled louder.
'I wasn't!' Autumn hissed 'I was speaking for Amanda and Liz!'
'And I was not flirting with your man, its not my fault he can't keep his hands of me!'
'Hey!' Scott yelled, fed up with the shouting 'Girls calm down!'
'Shut up!' Autumn and Mel both chorused together.
'You think you can have everything!' Autumn continued 'Well, here is one thing you can't have!'
'Oh please!' Mel waved her hand at her 'If I wanted to I could have Scott anytime! But I don't want him!'
'Yeak, that just a lie for you to hide behind! You're using Abs just to get to Scott!'
'I got better things to do with my life!' Mel yelled irritated. Autumn stood up from her chair, she crossed her arms across her chest and stared at Mel with a vengeance 'Yea like going around fucking other guys!'
'How dare you?' Mel hissed through her teeth.
'You know its the truth' Autumn said calmly, satisfied with herself.
'Look, Autumn, you don't know what you're saying here' I told her. She looked at me coldly, ready for another round of this argument.
'You bitch!' Mel yelled, she grabbed her red wine and threw it at her, soaking her outfit.
Autumn stood there in shock, she looked down at herself amazed. She looked up at Mel more angry then ever 'You'll pay for this!' She jumped over Scott's chair and Abs's over to Mel, grabbing her hair with a fist. Loud screams came from both of them, the rest of us sat dumbfounded at what was happening until J jumped from his seat to separate them. By than Mel had a plate of pasta on her head and Autumn had tomato souse on her face.
'Calm down girls!' He yelled. Both of them were panting for air. Mel jerked her hand from him and looked around 'Maybe next time I'll choose my friends more carefully!' with that she ran out.
I don't think I'm the only one who was confused and shocked at what just happened.
Autumn ran to the bathroom to clean herself. We all stared at Scott to see what will he do next.
'I can't believe' I said under my breath 'I can't believe' I repeated louder.
'What?' Liz asked.
I turned to Scott, almost in rage at what happened 'I can't believe you sat there watching as these 2 best friends fought over you!'
Scott looked at me confused 'They weren't fighting over me!' he defended himself.
'You don't even care that this is all about you Scott!' I yelled 'And you Abs' I turned to Abs 'You're supposed to be her new friend...why didn't you stop her?'
Abs looked at me and shrugged uncertainly 'I don't know' he mumbled.
'Mel was right' I said quietly 'She should have chosen her friends more carefully'
