We walked onto the closed set and quickly rushed Becky to Chris.
'Look she's fine!' Melanie shoved her into his face.
'Girls, girls' He took few steps back 'I wasn't worried. Take a seat Becky, we already found a replacement for you in the video so you'll just have to sit this one out'
'I was expecting that' Becky sighed, taking a seat by Chris. Mel and I walked away from her towards the dressing room. Mel hesitated right before the door.
'Come on' I nudged her 'You have to tell him'
'Who?' She looked at me confused 'Scott or Abs'
'Abs first' I ordered 'He deserves to know'
'You make it sounds so easy' Mel mumbled, dropping her arms to the side.
'It is!' I exclaimed 'Think of it as pulling off a Band-Aid, quick and painless'
She nodded thoughtfully to my theory and took a deep breath. I clasped my hands together while watching her going into Abs's room.
'Best of luck!' I shouted before the door closed.
'Liz!' Sean exclaimed when he saw me. I turned around quickly to face him.
'Is Becky okay?'
'She's fine...she's here' I told him, pointing in the direction where she was. He breathed a sigh of relief.
'Let me ask you something..' I began, my eyes narrowing at him 'How did you find her?'
Sean looked at me blankly. Could it be? Was Becky saying the truth?
They put the last finishing touches of my make up and I was ready to go. I joined the other extras who were standing around the food court.
'Autumn' Ritch ran up to me. Few other girls standing beside me jerked their heads as he appeared. He grabbed my arm and took me away from their views.
'Can I ask you something?'
'Sure' I nodded, in the back of my head hoping it wouldn't be about Amanda.
'Last night, Amanda offered to wait for you and Scott. So what exactly happened?'
I groaned inwardly, why was it always me who has to do this?
'Well...' I search my mind for a good answer 'Uh, me and Scott had a small fight and she came up and talked us through it and then she was too tired to go anywhere.'
'I thought you wanted Scott to see a movies' Ritch pointed out, his eyebrow rose.
'Right...yea, uh, we fought over that!' I corrected myself. His eyes was piercing through me and I couldn't stand it.
'Autumn...' He began like a mother trying to get the lies out of its child 'What really happened?'
I looked up at him and sighed 'I'm not the one you should be asking' I said quietly and walked away.
Abs rummaged through the clothes rack like a mad man.
'Look at all those wicked pants!' He exclaimed, showing me a black pair of baggy jeans. I nodded at it and took a seat on a small sofa that was near by. If I stood any longer I would probably faint. I couldn't stand doing this to him, my stomach was doing twists and turns and everything else possible.
'Hmm..' He turned towards me 'Do you think the director will be mad?'
'Why would he?'
'Well, yesterday I had hair' He pointed at his slowing growing black hair 'No I have nothing. I think the fans will notice that in the video'
'You'll stand out' I assured him. He nodded with a big grin and turned away from me. I couldn't wait any longer, this had to happen now!
'Abs' He looked back at me 'I have to talk to you about something'
His full attention was all mine, I hated it.
'Something serious' I added as if that would help.
'What is it?' He asked, taking a stool and sitting on it.
'Well' I looked down at my hands avoiding his look. I was thinking of Liz's words, quick and painless. 'Look Abs, I don't think this will work out...'
I looked up at him for his response, he just looked at me as if expecting more.
'Us I mean' I added 'I don't think 'Us' is going to work'
'Why...w-why' He stuttered 'Why wouldn't we work, Mel?'
I lowered my head again and sighed, quick and painless my ass! 'I thought I had feelings for you...but'
'But?'
'But I don't'
I could hear him stand up from the stool. He walked over to me and kneeled in front of me. Taking my hands against my will. He squeezed them tight, making me look at him.
'Melanie' He pleaded 'How can you sit here and tell me you have no feelings for me?'
I could feel the tears well up in my eyes. Seconds later they were streaming down my cheeks. It was like déjà vu. The same thoughts I had when I stood there with Scott two years ago were now racing through my mind.
'Abs...' I sobbed 'Please don't make this harder'
'Answer me!' He cried out 'After what happened yesterday' I remained silent.
'It was a mistake for you wasn't it?'
I shook my head no.
'I love you' He whispered, massaging my hands 'Melanie, I love you!'
'You can't' I sobbed harder 'You don't know what love is!'
'I do!' He yelled then calmed down a bit 'To me, true love means that I care enough to fight for what we have and that I love enough not to let go.' His grip on my hand loosened slightly. 'It means thinking of you, dreaming of you wanting and needing you constantly and hoping you feel the same for me.'
I looked into his eyes, which seemed to have some tears too.
'But you don't' He whispered softly, letting go of my hand 'You love him. I knew I would never win against Scott, I was right.'
He stood up from the ground and took few steps back. 'Leave'
I sat motionless momentarily then slowly stood up. I searched his face for any signs of forgiveness but it was all blank. I sniffled a bit and cleared my throat before leaving the room.
