Ritch and Scott couldn't possibly be put in the same car as each other. Chris decided Ritch should ride with us. He scrambled into the backseat of the van, ignoring Amanda's efforts to talk to him.
'What are you in for?' I asked him trying to amuse myself as he sat by me all the way at the end. He looked at me from the corner of his eye but didn't reply. He put his sunglasses on and smoothed out his hair.
'Everyone ready?' The driver asked.
'Yes!!' Liz yelled from up front. The car jerked forward and soon sped away.
'How come you're not mad?' Ritch blurted out as we were crossing one of the bridges to Manhattan.
'About?' I asked, slightly dazed out from my thoughts.
'About my aunt Pattie!' He retorted sarcastically 'What do you think?!'
'Someone is fussy' I mumbled 'Get over it'
'What?' He shot me a weird look 'I thought Scott was off limits for everyone, how come I didn't see you pull out her hair when you found out?!'
'Melanie was a different story' I told him quietly, fearing of anyone overhearing 'Besides, Scott broke up with me before it all happened'
'You lied to me' He hissed 'You told us that you made him stay in the hotel because of the movie'
'Yea well…' I shrugged carelessly.
'He made you lie!'
'What?'
'He made you lie!' Ritch repeated louder, making Becky and Liz to turn around and look at him weirdly 'He had you wrapped around his finger. You would do anything to save his ass'
That's totally opposite of what really happened, but if Ritch says so, I can't deny it.
'Yea' I nodded thoughtfully 'He's a manipulative horny bloke!'
'He has to go down' Ritch clasped his hands, his blue eyes turned dark with evil.
'I don’t understand this' Becky whined 'How come they have a little fight and we all have to take a break! I'm sick of this room!'
'Becky, lie down' I told her with a motherly look 'You're straining yourself'
She shot me a cold glare and continued pacing around as if to annoy me more.
'Hey Mel!' I greeted her as she dragged herself into the room. She looked around cautiously 'Amanda here?'
'No' Becky replied 'She left as soon as we got here'
'Oh'
'What's wrong?' I asked concerned seeing Mel's pale face which seemed to nothing unusual for the few days.
'Nothing' She shrugged it off 'I'm off to Abs's room, take the last of my stuff back'
'Oh' I sat up on my bed 'Is he there?'
'Not the last time I check'
'Want help?' Becky offered. Mel looked at her with caution 'No, Becky, rest please'
'I'm rested!' She shouted with frustration 'I need to move'
'Then go walk in circles' I ordered. Once again she shot me a cold glare and continued pacing.
'I guess I'll go' Mel sighed, I could see she rather leave the things where they were.
'Good luck!' I stuck up my thumb in the air as she left.
'Poor girl' Becky shook her head in regret 'Abs hates her, Scott dismisses her'
'How long did it take you to think of that?' I mumbled to myself.
'Wait a second...' Becky jumped to my side 'She's going to share a room with Autumn?'
'Obviously' I shrugged 'We have one more day to go, nothing will happen.
Besides, Autumn seems to have found a partner in crime'
'You mean Ritch?' Becky smirked 'They remind me of Charlie's Angel without one of the angels'
'Does stupidity hurt?' I asked.
I took one more look around the room, checking if I forgot something. I guess I gathered up everything. I realized that I spent all my nights here. Now I have to go share a room with that curly weirdo Autumn. I was heading for the door when suddenly it swung open. In the doorway stood an attractive blond hair girl, kind of resembling Liz except few years younger. She was holding onto Abs's waist who stood beside her. His smile faded when he caught a glimpse of me.
'I was just leaving' I told him, seeing that he wouldn't ask the question of what I was doing here. He brushed past with me with the girl, completely ignoring me. I turned around, watching him as he gestured for her to sit on his bed. She was obviously uncomfortable by the fact that I was still in the room.
Abs finally turned to me with a tired look 'You were leaving?'
'Yes' I nodded humbly 'I just came-'
'I don't need your stories' He cut me off and held the door for me.
'Sorry' I said quietly, hurt by his attitude. I guess I had it coming.
'Whose the girl?' I asked before heading out.
'It shouldn't concern you' He replied rudely 'None of what I do should concern you anymore'
I realized then how his attitude resembled our first meeting that day in the rain.
'Abs-' I began, hoping to leave this room atleast on friendship terms.
'Leave!' He roared. I could see the girl's eyes widen with surprise at his outburst.
I looked back at him with teary eyes. 'I'm sorry' I sobbed 'Abs please don't be like this!'
'Scott rejected you' He smirked at me 'So now you're begging me not to rip your heart. Too late Melanie, begging will not save you. Not now, not ever'
I couldn't stand his words, he was the one who always comforted me. His brown eyes stared directly at mine. I broke into tears and ran from him, as fast as I could.
