I looked down at the paper in my hands. Small handwriting was on it, hard for me to make out the words. I was nervous enough for my hands to shake.
'Well?' Ritch tapped my shoulder impatiently. 'Go!'
I turned around to face him with a hopeless look.
'You said you would do it!' He exclaimed irritated, slightly shoving me out of the corner. I couldn't turn back now. Taking in a deep breath I headed towards Scott room. Ritch noticed him going in there few minutes ago. This was like a trap...for me. I stopped in front of the door. Ritch's eyes were on me with a cold stare. I could hear soft voices coming from inside. I looked down at the paper one last time before stuffing it in my jeans.
'I love you Amanda' I heard Scott say as clearly as it could get. My heart swelled up. The words didn't hurt me, it was what I was about to do that hurt me.
'Is it wrong to feel so happy when everything else hurts?' I heard Amanda ask. Footsteps approached me, I knew it was Ritch.
'Don't just stand there!' He hissed. 'Go!'
I turned to him fiercely. 'No!'
'What?' He looked at me shocked.
'No Ritch!' I repeated. 'I'm not going to do this, I don't care how much revenge you want. These two people have honestly found something special between them. If you think Amanda was the one for you, than imagine that she feels a hundred times better when she's with Scott. You can't beat that feeling. Me coming to him telling him these lies will not prevent them being together. It will make them stronger Ritch! Deal with loss, it's part of life. You are a handsome lad, you can get any girls you want'
'I want her!' He cried out, showing the first signs of lost love. 'She was my one and only'
'She couldn't have' I shook my head at him. 'Cause the one and only wouldn't leave you'
'She doesn't realize what she has done. She'll come back to me!'
‘Ritch' I spoke softly. 'Please, look at it from my angle, what you had was great, but what she has with him is amazing! You can have that too if you get over this and start looking.'
'So what are your plans for the future?' I asked Sean. He turned the tv down and grinned at me.
'Long term plans?'
'No, just what is ahead for the group.'
He nodded thoughtfully. 'We'll come back to England, have one day rest and go South American for promotion for 2 weeks.'
'Oh' I felt disappointed already.
'Want to come with us?' He asked eagerly.
'No' I giggled 'I learned my lesson here. I should never travel with you'
Sean frowned slightly. 'You still don't trust me...'
'You don't just earn trust when you tell me you're sorry' I explained, patting his hand. 'You have to show me you want this to work'
'I do!' He exclaimed rather wildly. 'I mean, I want to'
'So do I' I kissed his lips.
'It will be weird though' He said as we pulled apart. 'You and your girls not around. Maybe we'll actually have some peace'
'What's that supposed to mean?' I asked offended. Sean shrugged and leaned back on the bed. 'Haven't you noticed the drama around here?'
'But-but' I tried to argue with that but he was right, it was like a constant roller coaster of emotions. 'Everything will soon fall into place.'
'Maybe' He nodded casually. 'But the effects will remain for a while.'
'What do you mean?' I asked curiously, situating myself next to him.
'Well' He smiled sheepishly. 'Abs for example, he's crazy over Melanie.'
'He is?' My eyes widened. 'He must be heart broken now.'
'Maybe. He was crazy about her since he bumped into her, although he didn't want to admit it. I knew it was hard for him to see Scott trying to get her, maybe that's why he took the backseat as a friend.'
'Who soon turned into a lover' I added.
'Yes, then got hurt because friends don't turn into boyfriends over night. He moved to quickly. He just wanted to be with her, he couldn't help it.'
'Oi' I shook my head. 'Poor Abs. He hates her now.'
'Abs?' Sean spat. 'Hate Melanie? Never. He is hurt, but he will never hate her. He understood her needs and her feelings. He told me himself yesterday that if Mel ever needed a friend he would always be there for her.'
'I can't believe this' I muttered shocked. 'This is wonderful!'
'Why?' Sean looked puzzled.
'We can make this group happy again!' I cried out. 'Like old times! Just a little push here and there and everyone will love each other again!'
I laid down next to Melanie and took a deep breath.
'Say something' I nudged her. Her eyes opened and gazed upon the ceiling.
'Don't be mad'
'I'm not' She replied quietly.
'Then say something!'
She turned to me with an expectant look. 'What do you want me to say?' She cried out. 'That you're right and I should go tell Abs how much he means to me?'
'That would be a start' I mumbled.
'Well have you thought of the fact that he hates me?!' She shouted and jumped of the bed. 'He doesn't even want to look at me!'
'Wrong' Becky exclaimed as she burst into the room. 'Wrong wrong wrong'
'Oh, God, why do I bother?' Mel muttered and laid back down.
'Melanie' Becky said sweetly as she kneeled beside her. 'Do you realize that you can be happy again?'
'I can be happy if you two would stop nagging me' Melanie snapped, she turned over away from us.
'Abs doesn't hate you' Becky announced. 'In fact, I know from a reliable source that he wants you to be there for you' There was silence in the room. I could feel Mel's body shift as she turned back around.
'What?'
'He is hurt' Becky continued. 'But he wants you to be friends with him'
'That's impossible' Mel rubbed her forehead confused. 'Why is this happening?'
'Better yet!' Becky clapped her hands. 'I think he still feels for you!'
Melanie sat up in the bed and breathed heavily. ’Oh God’ She took in deep breaths. ‘My first chest pain, oh God!’ I sat next to her and put my arm around her.
'Mel, I know you the best' I whispered. 'And I know that you want to be with him too'
She looked at me with tear filled eyes. 'I don't know...I don't know what I want.'
'Abs Abs Abs' Becky chanted. I shot her a cold look that made her stop.
'Think about it' I told Mel and walked away.
