Chapter 61

Amanda

'I can't believe you're leaving' I said in disbelief as I watched Autumn pack the rest of her things. She smiled weakly at me and continued stuffing her luggage.

'Why can't you stay until we all leave?' I pleaded. I felt obliged to make her stay.

'Amanda' She sighed. 'Don't make this any harder then it is.'

'We're leaving tomorrow morning, its only a half a day away!' I exclaimed frustrated.

'Yea, so I'll see you tomorrow evening' She grinned at me and closed the suitcase shut.

'I saw you with Ritch in the hallway' I told her. She looked up at me startled before her face eased.

'How is he doing?' I asked.

'He'll be okay' She assured me. 'Just don't let him see what you and Scott have.'

I plopped down on her bed and groaned. 'This is so wonderful yet so hard!'

She sat next to me on the bed. 'Can you do me a favor?'

'Sure' I replied, sitting up.

'Give this to Scott' She handed me a folded piece of paper.

'I have a better idea' I jumped off the bed and grabbed her hand.

'You can give it to him yourself'

'No!' She tried getting away from me but I held her hand tight and led her to Scott's room.

'I'll give you time alone before he leaves for the shoot.' I told her and opened the door for her.

'Why do you trust me so much?' She asked with a raised eyebrow.

'Cause I know I can trust him' I replied with a grin. She nodded hesitantly and walked into the room.

Autumn

Scott appeared from the bathroom as he heard the door close. He looked at me confused yet managed to smile.

'How are you?' He asked politely. I felt distant to him at that point, as if our relationship happened ages ago and every bit of it was forgotten.

'I just came by to say goodbye' I told him.

'Where you going?' he asked puzzled, studying my face.

'Back to England' I replied. 'I'm leaving at 5, but I'll see you soon...don't worry.'

'Why are you leaving now? Can't you just wait until we all leave?'

I thought about telling him my plans of living alone. I didn't tell Amanda, she didn't need to know, neither did he.

'I just have some business to take care' I replied, remembering the paper I was holding. 'This is for you. Just some thoughts I wanted to share'

He nodded, taking it for me and holding it to his chest.

'Autumn...how can I show you how much you mean to me?'

'You can promise me something.'

He looked at me intrigued. 'Of course'

'Promise me you'll commit yourself to one woman only.' I patted his shoulder as he grinned at me. 'You're a young lad but heart brake lasts forever if you're not careful.'

'I promise' He took my hand and kissed it. 'Thank you so much for understanding what happened here.'

I nodded at him and began heading out. 'Have a nice flight' He called after me. I smiled inwardly and closed the door behind. Now I was at peace with myself.

Mel

I followed Liz and Becky into the lobby where Autumn and Amanda stood. We all gathered in a circle around Autumn’s luggage. I realized then that was the first time we were all together without the guys since we arrived here.

‘Got your tickets?’ Liz asked, Autumn held up a white envelope and nodded proudly.

‘Clean the house for us won’t you’ Becky asked rudely. I nudged her in the ribs, she looked at me irritated and walked away, so much for the blessed moment of us being all together.

‘I want to leave before the lads go to their shoot’

We followed her into the reception desk where she called for the cab.

‘I’ll still be in the house when you come’ She told me with a sly grin.

‘That doesn’t bother me’ I shrugged showing her I was past the whole experience.

‘Of course’ She nodded still smiling. ‘I guess we learned quite a bit here’

‘What did you learn?’ Liz jumped in with an intrigued look.

‘I learned that real friends will never let you down.’ Her eyes narrowed at me ‘The others I don’t need’

I groaned slightly at her, and to think she was actually becoming humanly possible to live with, then she spoils that image.

We dropped all the bags into the cab and closed the trunk. Autumn headed towards Amanda and hugged her tightly. They were talking in whispers hard to understand.

‘So are you going to do it?’ Liz asked me in the meantime.

‘Do what?’ I asked dazed out.

‘Talk to Abs!’

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at her uncertain.

‘Come on Mel, its obvious that you realized it.’

‘Realized what?’ I snapped.

‘That… you need him’

I shook my head fiercely. ‘I don’t need anyone!’

‘Goodbye gals!’ Autumn patted us on the hands. ‘I’ll see you…tomorrow?’

She laughed slightly and leaned in to my ear. ‘From what I hear…Abs is the one for you’

‘Agh!’ I groaned and stomped back into the lobby. I heard Liz and Autumn laugh after me. I mumbled something to myself and kept on walking when suddenly something flashed across my eyes. It was Abs, I saw him clearly now, leaning against the receptionist desk. He saw me too, looking shyly at me. This was it, hope for the best, expect the worst.
