2 weeks later
‘Look’ Sean told me over the phone. ‘Just make sure no one leaves the house.’
‘That will be hard’ I admitted.
‘I’ll be there soon’ He assured me. ‘Don’t worry, this has to work.’
‘Alright, I’ll try my best’ I told him and hanged up the phone.
‘Who was that?’ Mel asked as she walked into the kitchen.
‘Uh…Sean’
She looked up from her coffee mug and smiled warmly. ‘Aww, is he back from the tour?’
‘No’ I lied. ‘Still there’
Melanie looked at me puzzled. ‘They were supposed to come back yesterday…’
‘Rite’ I nodded trying to figure out why she knew more then me .
‘Something came up so they had to stay’
‘Oh poor you’ She patted me compassionately and walked out. I breathed a sigh of relief. ‘Yea poor me’
‘Where you heading to?’ Liz asked me, seeing that I was all decked out in work clothes.
‘I got an interview’ I replied proudly.
‘So the store job is over?’
‘Yea. ‘I laughed slightly. ‘Ali just couldn’t take the fact that I had Ritch AND dumped him for his friend.’
‘So she’s working there alone?’
‘Who cares?’ I spat. ‘I got an interview, I’m moving on!’
‘Moving where?’ Becky asked frantically as she ran into the living room.
‘Nowhere’ I replied, looking over to her. ‘Why are you so stressed out?’
‘It’s nothing’ She shrugged it off. ‘You leaving now?’
‘Yea….’
‘NO!’ She exclaimed, holding my arm as if I was going to run now.
‘You can’t’
‘Becky!’ Liz exclaimed angrily. ‘What are you doing?’
‘Nothing’ She put on a smile and released my arm. ‘I’m just telling Amanda that she hasn’t had her breakfast yet’
‘I guess you’re right’ I agreed, giving a puzzled look over to Liz.
‘Good!’ Becky clasped her hands together. ‘I’ll make you the best breakfast ever!’
‘Help!’ I cried out. My last box of belongings wouldn’t close even after sitting on it for an hour.
‘What is it?’ Melanie came rushing in.
‘Help me with this’ I told her gesturing to the box.
‘Last one?’ She asked, taking a seat next to me on the box.
‘Yea’ I replied, pressing my weight down. ‘Yet the most stubborn one.’
‘It doesn’t want to leave’ Mel laughed.
‘It’s a box’ I scoffed. ‘Besides I want to leave.’
‘If I had an apartment like yours, I would leave too’ She muttered.
I smiled at her and slid of the box with a piece of tape ready. To my amazement it finally closed.
‘Finally!’ I screamed out happily. ‘I’m ready to go.’
‘Go?’ Becky’s head popped up in the doorway. ‘No one is going anywhere!’
