It wasn't until the next day that Sean noticed the small paper with a number on it. He scratched his head trying to remember who might have left it. A sheepish grin came to his face at thought that the attractive red haired girl who he met in the pub might have given it to one of the lads to hand it to him.
'Who you calling?' Scott asked eager to keep him occupied. Sean slid the piece of paper to his band mate and winked.
'A booty call' Scott cooed. 'Hey Abs!' He yelled out. 'Sean is getting a booty call!'
'A booty what?' Came Ritchie's inquiring voice.
'A booty call!' Abs exclaimed from upstairs. 'Sean! You dirty dog!'
Sean rolled his eyes at Scott since there was no one else he could do it to. The phone rang for few seconds when finally someone picked up.
'Hiyaness' came the familiar way of greeting. Sean froze in his tracks. His mind went blank. All the pick up lines he had stored, simply vanished.
'Jodi?' He asked cautiously.
'Sean?' Jodi exclaimed, surprised and excited. 'Finally!'
'What…what' He stumbled with his words, the piece of paper in his hands now crumbled into a small ball. 'What are you doing?'
'What do you mean?' Jodi's innocent voice asked. 'You're calling me!'
Sean did noticed that, he took a deep breath and rubbed his bold head, hoping some good explanation would hop into it.
'Yes but…' He stopped and cleared his throat. Suddenly feeling hydrated. His last months were spent relishing the freedom of being on your own and now this happens.
He didn't know whether he was mad at her or glad that she hasn't forgotten about him.
'How did I get your number?' He asked.
Jodi laughed loudly without holding back, she gave a slight snort that put a smile on Sean's stone face. 'I left it at your house yesterday, silly'
'you were here yesterday?'
'Wow, you are really out of it' She commented. 'if your mother would see how drunk you were!'
'You saw me?'
'Yes, duh!'
Sean collapsed into the chair near by and once again rubbed his head with his free hand. 'Where are you?'
'I'm visiting my aunt for a week here in London. I figured I would visit you' Jodi explained. 'since you didn't write back many of my letters'
'I'm sorry' Sean muttered. 'we were busy'
'It's okay' Jodi said simply, he could see the wide smile on her face in his thoughts. She could never stay mad at him. If it only was the same with him.
'So I'm here for a week' She reminded him happily. 'Are you going to come visit.'
Sean knew he had no other choice. He couldn't get out of it. Besides he owed it to her, he might as well sacrifice one day of his life to this girl that is so weirdly obsessed with him. Once he pays his debt he'll get rid of her just as quickly and go back to his lovely single life.
'Of course' A loud screech filled the line that sounded something between a mating call and a cry for help.
'Are you okay?' Sean asked.
'Yes yes' Jodi came back to her sense. 'I'm just glad that I will see you again.'
'Yes me too' He told her against his will. 'I'll be in town tomorrow, give me the address and I'll stop by'
After setting up the details his bid his goodbye to her and hanged up. Scott's cheeky face appeared from the kitchen.
'So you're getting it?' He asked curiously.
'Getting what?' Sean asked, absently looking at the phone.
'The booty call!' Scott clasped his hands, making Sean snap out.
'Yea right' He scoffed. 'More like an execution call.' He sighed and looked at the crumbled paper in his hands. Once again Jodi is stepping into his life, messing up everything he worked so hard for.
Jodi hanged up the phone and dropped back to the bed with a loud sigh. She was in 7th heaven. A meeting with Sean…tomorrow! What else could she ask for. They would be alone for hours, just the two of them. She has to look her best. He didn't even remember when she stopped by yesterday. Maybe it was better like that anyway, she looked horrible then. Jodi rolled off the bed and ran to the mirror. With a beaming smile she looked over herself. She was now 3 months older than he saw her last. She must have matured. When Sean sees, he'll drop to his feet and realize that she's the love of his life. Jodi already knew that he was her love. Like she said to herself, he's her lobster, tied to her forever. No matter what, or at least that's what she thought.
