Sean fumbled with the keys while cursing the lock under his breath. He was tired, and hungry and everything else he hated feeling. The door swung open and with his shoulders slouched he walked in, feeling relief of finally being home.
'Wow' Jodi's gasp came from behind him. He didn't bother to look back on her. To Jodi, the house that was so uninviting and dirty last time she came was now clean and warm. No horrible alcohol smell was filling her nostrils or the loud music disturbing her thoughts.
'Ay Sean!' Ritch called out, running from the stairs to him. 'Did you get those chocolates I asked for?'
'No' Sean replied gloomily, setting down his keys on the table nearby. 'I was busy' He gave Jodi a sideway glance. Ritch who by now reached his side looked over to Sean's companion. Jodi's eyes were wondering about the house, not realizing that someone else was standing ahead of her.
'You must be Jodi' Ritch extended his hand, snapping her out of her trance. Jodi's eyes widened at the attractive lad that stood before her. She was used to being in the company of guys, never really having a girl friend before. Yet this lad's smile sent her weakening in the knees.
'Yes…I…yes' She stuttered. Sean raised his eyebrow at her. He never had seen her stutter uncomfortably in front of anyone. She was known for her high confidence. Ritch turned to Sean and chuckled and without a further word, he disappeared into the kitchen. Sean knew well what his friend's laughter meant. It was a pity laugh.
'I'm starving' Jodi whined, regaining herself once again.
'Go make yourself something' Sean replied, collapsing onto a couch and flicking on the TV.
'What would you want?' Jodi asked. She was more than willing to serve for him. Sean waved his hand in the air absently. 'Surprise me' He muttered. Jodi nodded and skipped happily into the kitchen where Ritch was still rummaging.
'Is there anything in here edible?' She asked, examining the food in the fridge.
'I'm sure there is' Ritch replied nonchalant. 'Probably in the back, that's where we hide the good stuff.'
Jodi giggled slightly, avoiding looking at him. She knew those baby blues would ruin her concentration. And right now she was concentrated on pleasing Sean. She found some odd things in that fridge, but finally she decided on ham and cheese. She whipped out the bread and began making sandwiches. All while Ritchie watched her.
'How old are you?' He asked curiously.
'15' Jodi lied, trying to sound casual.
'I'm hungry!' Someone called out from upstairs. Loud footsteps were heard and in seconds another lad appeared in the kitchen. He stopped dead in his tracks, noticing Jodi at the counter making food.
'Ritch' He tapped him on the shoulder, his eyes never leaving Jodi. 'Did you hire her?' Ritch laughed loudly, which made Jodi, turn around and notice Scott in the doorway.
'Hi there' Scott jumped towards her and with a cheeky smile he examined her over. Jodi stood her ground unlike with Ritch; she looked straight at him and smiled politely.
'This is Jodi' Ritch piped in. 'Sean's friend.'
'Ahh, yes Jodi' Scott nodded, scratching his chin. 'Making food?'
'Obviously' She replied before turning her to him.
Scott smiled at her frisky attitude and turned to Ritch. 'Food!' He mouthed excitedly.
Everyone munched on the extra sandwiches Jodi made. No one could contain their smiles as they ate the delicious snack. A good change from the take out food.
'Can you make breakfast too?' Scott asked bluntly. Before Jodi could reply, J already slapped him upside his head.
'What!' Scott whined. 'I just wanted to know.'
'She's not your personal cook!' J said sternly. Jodi already came to fear his authority in this house. She tried to believe Sean when he said J is loads of fun but his tall, built figure scared her. She looked towards Sean who was eating quietly her snack. She didn't care who she pleased as long as he complimented her on it.
'Sean' She snapped him back. 'Do you like the food?' 5 pairs of eyes turned towards him and awaited the answer. Sean gulped down the last piece of the sandwich and nodded with a strained smile. He was tired of her company, tired of everyone praising her. She always had to come into his life and make a mess while pleasing others.
'Well, since your done eating' He said, dusting off his hands. 'Lets drive you home.' He poked J for him to get up and accompany him. J stuffed the last of the food in his mouth and jumped away from the table yet Jodi remained seated.
'Home?' She asked nervously. 'Now?'
'I'm tired' Sean explained. 'I'm sure you are too.' This time he was set making her follow his rules.
'Come on Jodi' J motioned her to move before he got impatient himself.
'Alright…' She replied hesitantly, afraid of going against J.
'Bye Jodi!' Scott and Abs chorused together. 'Thanks for the food' Ritch added.
'No problem' She smiled at them, glad to be some help to these poor lads.
She walked out from the kitchen into the living room to grab her jacket. Sean was leaning against the front door waiting for her while J was already staring up their car.
'I don't want to go back to that cold, dark house' Jodi whined quietly to him.
Sean nodded absently to her, he wasn't really listening to her. His mind was filled with thoughts on how to spend the rest of his evening.
'Sean' Jodi tapped him to get his attention. 'Please' Sean's mind jerked awake when he realized what she wanted.
'No!' He said firmly and turned to open the door.
'But Sean' She placed her hand on his and held it away from the doorknob. 'The neighbors are already suspicious why I'm there without my aunt.'
'Well that's your problem' He stated.
'Sean!' Jodi struggled to keep her hand on his. 'Why are you so difficult?'
Sean had it. He couldn't stand any more whining and pleading for that night. He grabbed Jodi's weightless body and threw it over his shoulder like a sack. Surprisingly Jodi didn't struggle or scream. She enjoyed every moment of it.
'I sank low enough to do this' Sean mumbled.
'What is he doing to her?' Abs asked, watching the whole incident.
'Looks like he's kicking her out of the house' Scott commented.
'No' Abs shook his head in disagreement. 'Looks like She asked for it. Look! She's not even complaining!'
'Of course not' Ritch piped in. 'She loves him' Scott and Abs turned towards their mate before laughing out loud.
'Jodi loves Sean' Scott cooed.
'Sean loves Jodi' Abs added. Like two babies they kept at it for hours.
