Benitez was acquired in one of Phillips best deals yet. It was a three way deal in which the Mets shipped off an injured Todd Hundley in exchange for Roger Cedeno and Armando Benitez.
While on the mound, Benitez's best weapon is his heater. His fastball consistently reaches 93-98 MPH. A splitter and slider also occasionally are thrown by Armando.
Armando Benitez is emerging as one of the most dominant closers in baseball today.
