Accept Me For Who I Am
I am not perfect and never claimed to be,
all I ever wanted was to be happy and free.
I am a dreamer...I'm living out my dreams,
but you never could accept that or so it seems.
There were times in my life when I needed you near,
but like most of those times you were never there.
I had many dreams that with you I wanted to share,
but you had no time, no space..you didn't even care.
I'm trying to move forward each and every day,
I'm climbing that hill to the top and I'm on my way,
I know not what kind of day tomorrow will be,
so for today please accept me for who I am.
I may never get to see tomorrow again, life is so unsure,
when you walk through the door and I'm no longer there,
Think about my life as you take that final tour,
Just know I've gone to a place where everyone will accept
me for who I am.
