here we will feature some of the many guitars that rstevie moore has owned and/or used since 1965.
HAGSTROM Red Plastic electric 6
(on all rsm recordings 1975-1976)
[1] a very cheap no-name black/white-trim semi-hollowbody single-cutaway one-pickup. Gift from my father 1964. At 12 years old I loved it. The instrument is long lost and forgotten (never photographed).[2] a cheap nylon-string classical guitar, unknown brand, learned to play on this baby, soon deceased. Appears on several earliest rsm recordings (NT01).
[3] Gibson SG Junior; burgundy finish, one pick-up. Used on all rsm (and victor lovera) recordings from 1971-1974. Body later modified by sawing both cutaways to form tear-drop shape and handpainted with turquoise Liquitex paint, then accidentally broken in two when dropped on stage end of show at Ethos Street Party gig, downtown Nashville Sept '74)
[4] Aria double neck 6 and 12 string, SG copy. Bought for roadwork with the Swings, 1976. Appears on a scant few rsm songs of the era.
[5] Rickenbacker 6 string electric. Traded Aria for it in Frankfort KY 1977, still in possession and in use. Used on all rsm recordings 1977 to present. (pictures coming soon)
[6] Ovation Preacher 6 string electric. Borrowed (permanently) from Uncle Harry Palmer 1978, stored in closet. Appears on rsm sessions 2000 to present.
