At around noon, Howie and Kevin went to go get lunch. After they left the doctor came in the waiting room. Katelyn, AJ, Brian, Nick, and Katie stood up.
"Stephanie still hasn't come to and we still don't know what she has. But we do know that she is suffering from exaustion and the reason she got sick is because she was so tired. We still need to run more tests though. We don't know what's going to happen though or if she's strong enough to pull through." "When are you going to know?" Katelyn said while taking a small glance in AJ's direction. "We don't know." "Ok. Thank you." The doctor nodded his head then walked away and everybody sat down.
Katelyn cuddled up next to Brian.
"I'll be back." AJ said then left. "This is killing him." Katelyn said to Brian. "What are you talking about?" Brian asked. "It is killing AJ to see Stephanie like this." "I know." "If something bad was to happen to her, he would defiantly fall apart." "I know. I'm going to go see if he's alright."
Brian got up and walked out of the room and down the hall to where Stephanie was. He found AJ there looking through the glass at Stephanie.
"Are you alright?" Brian asked him. "I don't know." "I know it's going to be hard but she's probably going to be alright." "Are you sure?" "I'm going to be totally honest with you, ok?" "Yeah." "I don't know. Something could happen but she is probably going to be alright." AJ didn't say anything. "We just have to hope that she is strong enough to pull through." "I know." "Come on. Let's go back to the waiting room. Kev and Howie will be back soon." "Ok."
They walked back to the waiting room. 10 minutes later, Howie and Kevin came back with McDonalds(r).
"How is she?" Howie asked while Kevin gave everybody their food. "She hasn't come to and they don't know what she has yet. But they do know that she is suffering from exaustion and the reason she got sick was because she was tired. The doctors said they still have to run more tests." Katelyn hesitated for a minute then continued. "They don't think that she is strong enough to pull through."
Kevin and Howie both looked at AJ with sympathtic looks. Then they turned back to Katelyn.
"Wow. Is there anyway that we can see her?" Howie asked. "Go down the hall to the IC unit and go to room 3. There is a big window to look through. But you can't go in the room yet." Katelyn said. "Have you been down there yet?" "No." "Who has?" "AJ." "And me and Nick." Brian said. "Oh." and with that Kevin and Howie left the room. "Kate, After were done eating, let's go down and see her." "Ok."
They ate and then they went down to go see Stephanie. When they got down to her room, Kevin and Howie were still down there.
"How's AJ doing?" Kevin asked. "Not to good. This is killing him." Katie said. "I feel so bad for him." Howie said. "We all do. I think it would do him some good to go home and rest but he won't." Katelyn said. "Why did this happen?" Howie asked. "Because she is so small (Author's Note: Skinny way not tallness way) and she was tiring herself out that she got sick and this is one of the side-effects. All I have to say is that if something worse was to happen AJ would fall apart." Katie said. "I hope she gets better. I hate seeing her like this and also AJ." Kevin said. "I just hope she wakes up soon." Katie said, "Has anybody called Katrina?" "No." they all said in unison. "Does anybody have a phone?" "Mine went dead." Katelyn said. "I don't have mine." Howie said. "Neither do I. Ask Nick, Brian, or AJ. One of them should." Kevin said.
Katie walked back to the waiting room.
"Do any of you have your phone?" she asked while walking in the door. Nick handed her his phone. "Thank you." she said. Then she disappeared into the hall. She walked back to Katelyn, Kevin, and Howie and asked Howie, "Do you have the number to Katrina's parents house?" "Yeah. It's ###-####." (Author's Note: Hey, I couldn't think of anything.)
Katie turned the phone on and dialed Katrina's prents number.
"Hello?" said a unfamiliar voice. "Hi. This is Katie. One of Katrina's friends. I was wondering if there is anyway I can talk to Katrina?" "Well she's not in right now. Can I take a message?" "Yes. Please tell her the minute she gets back to call Katie at 123-4567. It's an emergeny. When are you expecting her?" "Any minute now and I'll give her the message." "Thank you. Bye." "Bye."
She hung up the phone and told Katelyn, Howie, and Kevin, "Her father expects her home any minute."
They took another glance at Stephanie then walked back to the waiting room.
