Stephanie and AJ were awakened by a loud scream. Stephanie pushed AJ out of the way. Then she ran downstairs. Brian and Katelyn were at her heels. They ran into the kitchen.
"Why?" Amanda screamed at Stephanie. "Why what?" "Why are you doing this to me?" "Doing what?" "Why are you dating AJ?" "Because I love him." "You knew that I liked him." "Actually I didn't. But what do you want me to do about it?" "Stop going out with him." "No." "Yes." "No." "Yes." "You know what, fine I will."
Brian stepped in. "Stephanie don't do it." "No, Brian. I don't want a boy to come between me and my sister." "Steph, You don't mean that." "Yes, I do."
Just then AJ walked in. Brian and Stephanie were looking at each other. "Geez. What's going on in here?" AJ asked. "AJ, I can't...." Stephanie started. "Steph, don't do it." Brian said. "Bri, if you really are my best friend, you will let me do what I have to." Stephanie said. "But you don't want to." "But I have to." "Steph, listen to me. Don't let your sister choose for you. Do what your heart says."
Stephanie turned to Amanda and said, "I'm not going to dump AJ because you can't take that we are together." "Fine. That just means that you love a guy more than your sister." "Well, because the way you have been acting lately, yeah I do." "If your going to be that way, see ya." "Where are you going?" "Somewhere that you aren't."
Amanda stormed out of the house. She slammed the door, got in her car, and drove away. Stephanie looked at the clock. It was only 4:00. "I'm going back to bed."
Stephanie walked back upstairs and got in bed. When she was about to lay down, she saw Brian at the door. She layed down anyway. "Can I come in?" he asked. "Sure." He walked over and sat down at the edge of her bed.
"I'm sorry about before. I really care about you and I didn't want you to do something that you would regret." "That's alright. I'm sorry about what I said before too." "That's alright."
Stepahnie sat up and she leaned over and gave Brian a hug. "Thank you for being a great friend." "Your welcome."
Stephanie layed back down in her bed. Brian got up and then he leaned down and gave Stephanie a kiss on the cheek. "Brian?" "Yeah." "Oh, nevermind." He sighed and then walked out the door.
